I was hoping for a cup run. It would be fantastic to see Reading make a cup final just once. Even your Bradfords, Wimbledons, Millwalls and Watfords and countless other "small" clubs seemed to have managed it. Are we destined to never do so? Oh yeah, "go and support Man City if you want success" etc.

On one hand the League Cup is a distraction as no-one seems to take it very seriously.

On the other hand because the bigger sides are more likely to put their reserves out then you have a better chance of getting somewhere with little more application.

But then given our incredibly awful injury situation it's no real surprise we're a littltle inconsistent esp. against the better sides.

Just waiting for our 3rd Round FA Cup tie at Peterborough or Forest now :roll:
