Nameless Big centre back we got from and returned to Telford ?

Aaron Brown?

If we're going back 30 years, how about Sean Reck? On loan from Oxford in the all conquering 85/86 season and played in 1 game, a 6-0 defeat at Walsall.

Horsham Royal Burns era striker forced to retire early. Stocky bloke.

Sean Evers? Rumour has it Luton's insurers were just about to pay out on him when we came along with a cheeky £500,000 bid.

Wikipedia reckons he made 18 appearances for us which is 18 more than I remember.

I thought Sean's appearance was in the 3-0 stuffing at Priestfield (Gillingham).

You could be right . I just remember us having a chronic injury crisis for the Walsall game
and assumed that was the game he played in. Either way, a spectacular Reading career.

Jimmy Crawford.

I'm reading the Andy McLaren book, and it turns out he ended up on his couch after living in the hotel for a year. Andy makes a comment that he pretty much screwed up Jimmy's career. I'd completely forgotten about him. Knowing what Andy was up to at this time, along with his Jimmy's injuries, well it doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out that were running amok.

Interestingly* that's an anagram of "Not Romario".

A club in-joke?

Anyway, I did one of those Sporcle quizzes where you had to name Reading players from the last 5 years and I genuinely had no recollection of Matt Connolly ever playing for us.

Sean Evers was described as a 'box to box' player.

Sekou Baradji

The man responsible for 106. Sent over the cross for Brynjar to head in the winner against Sheffield United, after which we never looked back.

Hardly forgotten !
Regularly mentioned on here as one of our best players, and one of the saddest footballing stories.
Highly recommend his book if you can find a copy.
