Jermaine Defoe is a fairly regular pundit on Match of the Day, not sure if he is covering the World Cup. He is excellent and I prefer him to Jermaine Jenas. As for Lee Dixon and Chris Sutton I actually find them offensive. During the FA Cup run Dixon in his punditry was obsessed with "if he is a foreign manager does he really understand the magic of the FA Cup" to which one is tempted to respond piss off you old bigot.

ITV’s “record” with games in the Euros is almost as horrendous as the World Cup, however they did get a little respite in 2021 so just maybe there’s a small amount of hope.

I don't normally care for pundits and commentators but whoever was doing comms on the Spain(?) game said something like 'he struck it really well' when immediately showing a replay of a Spanish player miss a penalty
