I suspect that, not knowing anything about us before the start of the season, the fact that as well as having the usual attributes one associates with newly promoted clubs (work rate, passion, team spirit etc) the pundits have been shocked to discover that we actually play football as well; not the ridiculous "give it some welly!!" of teams like Watford and, yes, Bolton, but proper football, with passing, overlapping full backs and wing play and genuine artistry.

And they are loving the fact that we do!

Clearly, they are having to find some reason for this and have identified Sir Steve as the reason, but I loved Adrian Chiles' description of us in MOTD2 last night; "Reading, slipping up the table without trace".

But the lazy old pals act on the MOTD sofa still trade almost exclusively in cliche and stereotype and provide almost no analysis of what is actually going on. To be fair to Hansen, a few weeks back he was talking about how well we defend as a team and worked through some clips in slow motion to illustrate that.
