For me;

best result - West Ham

worst - Wigan away - a crap result and above all a very poor performance

Most Depressing ground, game, atmosphere must be Portsmouth Away.

No passion, No bite, No nothing. SHOCKING!

Chelsea at home as well for all the commotion, diving etc.

Too many highlights even in defeat, which included Villa away where we were the better team until Sonko went off

The Spurs match.

Questions were being asked about the team after *that* October, and so it was a crucial game - then to come back from going a goal down and to win so emphatically.....

Best, 6-0 v Wesh Ham

Worst by far was the 0-4 loss to Arsenal. They truly showed us how to play football.

Losing to an Arsenal team playing at their very best, even by 4-0 is no disgrace. Even at 4-0 we tried to play football. Didn't go to Portsmouth so the worst for me was at Wigan, devoid of passion and creativity against a very average side.

Best 3-1 v Spurs for context of the game and the manner in which we came from behind.
The 3-2 v Boro was hugely important as it set the tone for the season and proved we had nothing to fear.
Any 6-0 win is good but to achieve it in the Premiership is very special, even if the opponents were woeful. I've seen us 4-0 up at half time on numerous occasions but we always seem to sit back in the second half. West Ham was different, we continued to attack and Green kept it under double figures.

The single worst result is any from these three

Wigan 1 v 0 Reading
Portsmouth 3 v 1 Reading
Watford 0 v 0 Reading

All three were spineless performances and Wigan made me really think that we would struggle at this level.

The best results

Any win this season

If I had to pick a handful then I would say

Reading 1 v 1 Man U
Reading 3 v 1 Tottenham
Reading 1 v 0 Bolton
Chelsea 2 v 2 Reading
Man City 0 v 2 Reading

All for various reasons and it's not often you would look at those teams and expect to get anything from them

I still rank the opening day win over Boro as the best win. Purely because of what it meant in terms of confidence. Had we lost that then it could have been oh so different this season.

The 6-0 win over West Ham has to be the best game for pure comedy value.

Worst game? I've loved them all, but losing away at Wigan and the fact that that useless pile of poo Heskey scored the winner still riles me.
Sodje was pulled to pieces by Camara until he went off. We just didn't turn up that day.

Oh and I forgot to mention losing at Boro as well, just because it was a 10 hour round trip for me that day.

Ivar reckoned the Watford away game was the worst he's ever played in... I'll go with that. For me the opening game of the season was their best. You could tell our former sponsors were 'Courage'.

Some very significant results throughout the season but Man City away was a very good performance, we rode our luck at times but 2 fanastic passes by Sidwell/Harper and Leroy finished superbly.

As bad as Portsmouth hurt, Wigan was worse. We never win at Portsmouth anyway, very difficult place to get a result and they were 1 of the form sides but Wigan we were outfought on the day, created very little and like Huntley, was a real bring back down to earth game.

As soon as the penalty/card were awarded in the Aston Villa game I thought "sh*t, now we won't win the Wigan match either" 'cos without Sonko (at that early stage of the season) we were always going to struggle at Wigan.

As someone once said, in some ways I like being a pessimist - after the outcome, I'm either right or I'm pleasantly surprised

From Despair To Where? Even at 4-0 we tried to play football.

But we weren't trying to stop them.

The best were the two most significant results of the season - Boro and Spurs home.

Can't comment on the away games as I haven't been to any (not through lack of trying!). Out of the home prem games Blackburn was the most disappointing performance. Arsenal were just a different class and you can't argue with that, and Chelsea was just bloody annoying..
