It's gotta be Shorey but Dylan comes a pretty close second. Anyone who can be voted fans favorite player for a season, when the striker scores 40 goals, has gotta be a pretty special player.

Why on earth Spacey (and whoever voted for him!) do you think Matt Robinson should be considered in the vote for best left back?

One of the worst players i've ever seen :!: :!: :!:

Were they left backs ? If they were that's one hell of a coincidence that the England call-ups have all been from one position.

So why didn't you nominate any other left back then?

Er...acutally Herbert Smith was a left full-back. Looked in Heaven On Earth this morning. Alan Sednuary describes him as our 'greatest ever player' (or words to that effect). He was the captain of the team despite being the only amatuer in a team of professionals. Also our most capped England international (to date).

Is it too late for a new nomination???

Afraid so! Even if I did include him in the vote, would he garner as many votes as, say, Dylan Kerr?

Obviously have to vote for the current incumbent because of all the things he brings to the team - although I wanted to vote for Stevie Rich, if only for the voice and the joy in seeing him score against Ipshit away on the last day of the season ( too many years ago now to remember which one )

He is also a top bloke - some friends and I got one of the hospitality boxes at EP for one of the Sherpa Vans matches and as he wasn't playing he sat in with us to watch the game. He loved the banter and joined in with most of it.

There was one cringeworthy moment when one of my mates sang a song about how Michael Gilkes was the fastest person of a certain ethnic decent to be playing on the wing.

The rest of us stared in disbelief but Stevie brushed the comment aside - a true gent

I voted Mark White, in memory of CC.

Spacey these threads are a good idea, but surely we should exclude last season's players because it is obvious that successful Premiership players are better than players that once got us out of (and back down into) Division Four.

Shorey of course is the only serious choice, but I vote under the rules just suggested.

What a principled person I am.
