AbovetheI Anyone else think that performance wise, that was the worst result of the season?

It's a crippling loss of 2 points because it's Liverpool next and then we are away. We are at home to a team that is worse on the road than James Dean, got murdered last week and we made them look decent. They fully warranted at least a point.

It was a really really poor performance, only Kitson had any quality on the Reading side, surrounded by Championship standard players.

We were poor today, but they were worse. I just feel that some people on here, you included, actually want us to fail.

Don't be daft. Highlighting mistakes, giving an honest opinion of what i saw. Boro weren't worse than Reading at all, both teams were equally poor and Hahnemann was called upon on more occasions than Boro's THIRD CHOICE keeper today. We were at home to a team that got beat 3-0 last week, had lost 4 on the bounce?? and we weren't good enough to beat them, we've now got 2 games where it's going to be very very tough to pick up points. That's why those 2 points we let go today could be crucial.

'greed. A shit game between two relegation candidates was always going to be a tight one, but 'boro didn't deserve more than a point and neither did we.

They had about as much cutting-edge as a pair of 5-yr olds left handed scissors and the only department they were stronger than us was their was pace in midfield.

Their passing was at least as poor as ours, if not worse, and though they tested Hahnemann more than we did Turnbull, our stopper didn't have much to deal with.

The aberrations during the post-hitting incident and the Sonko showdown were just that, rare moments of consternation.

'ding and 'boro will stay up because there is quality in both teams that just isn't quite firing at the moment, but a point was fair all round.

We simply lack any semblance of class across the midfield.

Its not the players fault, - they're just not good enough.

As well run as RFC is, our naivety during the close season concerning transfers is all to see.

More so suprising given Coppells experiences during his reign(s) at Palace.

The transfer window can't come quick enough for me, and I 'kin hope we pick up some quality, who will be 'Premiership ready'.

Otherwise, its going to be a tough & long ,long season.

Put in to perspective..

Both teams were really poor today but no poorer than Man City were last week and they are in the top 4!!

Yes we are poor but apart from the big four and maybe a handful of other at the very most all the other teams I have seen this season are as poor as each other.

The likes of Derby, Sunderland, Newcastle, Fulham, Wigan, Bolton and Brum are just as bad as us and it is going to be 3 from 8 or 9 that go down.

Wrong.

Man City are in a different league at home at the moment and were better than us last week. One of those "we were good enough for a draw but they were good enough for a win" scenarios.

Citeh won't be in the mix at either end come May, but they are a lot better than 'boro and 'ding at the moment.

For a team that has won 7 out of 7 at home I thought they were fairly poor and their HOME performance against us wasnt any greater than Boros AWAY performance.

Totally agree with you that Citeh wont be in the mix at the end of the season ,have said all season that their position is somewhat false

I wouldn't bet on it. I still won't be shocked if we don't do much in the window.

I can't believe how blind some people are, we deserved to lose and were lucky to even draw the game. We had no midfield, our defence looked shaky and we were cut open too many times. Marcus wasn't as bad as people think and it's absolutely absurd to even think that 'Boro were worse than us. They deserved the three points and should have got them. They're a team that are as bad away as us but showed up today with confidence, with a game plan and they battled. Something that only Dave Kitson managed to do for us today.

Tinrib We simply lack any semblance of class across the midfield.

Its not the players fault, - they're just not good enough. .

"good enough" for what though?

To expect to be mid-table? Clearly not.
To expect to stay up? Most of them are.

The idea that the whole team are really just championship standard is daft. A championship standard team wouldn't have achieved what we have over the last two seasons. You can't fluke it for two years.

The problem, as one or two have mentioned, is that the midfield is failing completely, starving the strikers of chances and leaving the defence exposed.

We do miss Sidwell, but we also really miss Little, and also the Hunt of last season. Harper isn't really doing all that much different to what he's ever done. The difference is that Harper no longer has a tackler alongside him, and his usual ability to instigate attacks by giving the ball quickly to those that do the damage looks much less useful when there aren't the players there doing the damage.

There were actually a few moments in the first half when we started passing the ball about more like last season when we went forward, but sadly only in the middle third rather than the last one. If we can pick up a couple of good midfielders in January, assuming that Cisse and Fae are written off, then thing could look very different. If we don't, then we are no better than 50/50 to stay up.

Just watching MOTD and Hahnemann called Sonko a "f*cking idiot" repeatedly.

LOL
