Kieron1981 i think it need to be someone on the younger side of the team, we have give it to someone in their 30's and a year down the line they retire

we also need to give it to someone who shows loyalty towards the team

fair point
problem is i don't think we have currently got anyone who ticks those boxes

harper could well be leaving
doyle could be leaving and i doubt he has any leadership skills
lita doesn't set a good example
hunt may be leaving

Hunt, Harper and Ivar in the top three, why?

Harper is a great lad, a joker, key to team spirit and very jovial (sp?) but he isn't a leader on the pitch. I've watched him closely with the arm band (round his calf lol) but he isn't vocal enough.

Hunt? Captain? Really? Not in a million years. Again, not a leader.

Ivar? Yeah he can do a job but he hasn't got much left in him as a defender even at this level. Too slow and a little off the pace IMO. We need a captain for the long term, not the short.

If Murts is replaced as captain, my first thought is Dubes, but he too is in the same boat as Ivar. Rosenior is vocal and talks a good game. He can be seen encouraging his fellow team mates during the game and have been especially impressed with how he talks to Kebe constantly during the games, and Kelly also.

Royalee has a point too. Alex Pearce is one for the future captaincy. A born leader on the pitch. I hope he gets some first team action soon (in the league). He will more than give Ivar and Dubes a run for their money.

Pearce has been touted as a future Captain by Kevin Dillon. From what I've seen of him in the ressies and last night I would suggest that he won't be.

He'll be snapped up by a big club after a season or two with us.

Pearce was out shouting Duberry last night, he should definately be the captain at some point in the future.

Stephen Hunt for me or if Pearce is in the team I`d make him captain, age is irrelevant. Tony Adams was only 20 when he became Arsenal captain, if you`re good enough you`re old enough.

As much as i love Hunty i cant see him being a great captain for the club.

We need someone who really keeps the team together under pressure, whereas hunt is a bit to scatty.

Marcus for me.

'greed

I can't see either of them lasting at the Club much longer due to injuries and the pace of the game will just be too much for them.

i think the captains armband needs to be handed over sooner rather than later....

how about

Murty passed to Ingimarson or hunt for about 2 years then on to Pearce,

that will give pearce aboput 2-3 years to get up to speed, remember hes so young he has all the time in the world
