Gordons Cumming Personally I don't blame them one bit.

We all know on here, EXACTLY how they feel.

Maybe they'll get Pardew to replace him. How ironic would that be?

Totally agree.

McGhee did the same to us and we were furious with him.

They have every right to be furious with Rodgers.

*slight* differences on the other hand:

1)Rodgers was here with RFC first - this is his old club
2) we gave him the first ever chance on the ladder
3) and still lives here

so it's not just a case of going for the money, but going back home in more ways than one. I don't think we'd be *quite * as upset if McGhee was with Leicester for years, still lived there, had a short stint with us an wanted to go back home would we?

And anyone who compares Parj with Rodgers (or McGhee) needs their head examined.

I think they are right to be pissed off, looks like they were playing better football with him, they gave him a chance, and he pissed off after just half a season, however the club chairman should have refused us permission to talk to him.

We would have walked away, but they were tempted by the money.

Ian Royal I'm not surprised they're a bit peeved, but some of that is going a bit over the top.

It's not like anything underhand happened, and I suspect for most other clubs Rodgers would have stayed. Lets not forget he has quite strong ties to the club and area here. But lets also not be blind to teh fact it IS a step up for him, even if only slighty. He WILL have better resources, facilities and more money here.

Zac, our finances are as we thought. There is money available for the right players as always. Watford have barely a pot to piss in from what I've been reading.

Happened to us with Pardew and didn't we whine and gnash our teeth then! Hopefully for Watford they will move on - always liked them Graham the Turnip and that bendy goal by was it Luther Blissett or one of the Fashanu's?

He did a good job for them, they should be grateful. If their chairman wanted to hang onto him so much, he should have made sure that there wasn't a release fee in his contract.

The thing that really hurts them is that Reading are seen as a better option than Watford.

Frankly it serves them right for not serving alcohol in the away end in the 04/05 season. Kunts.

FiNeRaIn I agree with you.

Leaving your post after being given an opportunity you haven't repaid is poor.

Especially for a club of a very similar size, what is the point?

Sorry lads, won't blame you for taking the piss immensely when you beat us next year.

I wonder if this is one reason brought up in the press conference.

I know finerain was always a rubbish WUM, but at least he used to put some effort into his posting. This is struggling to reach Harold quality.

Harsh, but unfortunately for Finerain, so very true.

Having read some of the comments attributed to Rodgers a few weeks ago - almost indignant at being linked with other jobs - I must say this isn't exactly the most honourable or promising start to a Reading manager's career :| . Utterly unproven, I hope he is worth all the hassle, I really do.

Pards went behind our back without permission and joined a club who were below us at the time. The only thing similar is they both made comments that inflamed opinion prior to leaving.

Even there they were different.

Rodgers - I am 100% committed to Watford, I've started a job and I want to finish it.
Pardew - Will be here for a very long time yet

Both paraphrased, but one is talking about the now and is entirely appropriate, if easily misconstrued. The other is just plain fallacy, especially when you add in the rumours that Pardew had been talking to them for months.

I think Rodgers could have handled it better, but no one has actually done anything wrong. Pardew breached contract and McGhee renaged on an agreement.

As I said understandable they're angry, they;ve just lost a very good and promising manager who had turned them around. But there's righteous indignation and then there's frothing mad bitterness.

Ian Royal
wickedwhispers 2 managers in a row we've poached now. Can't believe everyone was so upset about Pardew! We're just as bad as a club.

Congratulations you've just made finerain appear skilled again.

Just one more reason to dislike Reading! they are taking the place of that lot up the M1.

As for you Brendan/Judas, lets see how many players you take to Reading as a result of your recent scouting trip whilst still on the Watford payroll. (and hope they all turn out to be $hit)
Lets hope that some of your players get season long injuries playing in the pre-season Reading v Chelsea money spinner that you undoubtably also organised whilst on our payroll.

In my opinion you are an absolutely immoral kunt who wouldn't know integrity if it came up and hit you round the head with a big stick whilst shouting "I'm integrity, don't misuse my name, you ********"

You would be advised to be absent for the Watford v Reading fixture, because you are going to get some serious verbals!!

I hated your initial 4-1-4-1 tactic (it, like you is sh!t) I don't wish you well, in fact I hope you crash and burn like no manager has done before, we gave you your opportunity and you shat on us, you no good, two faced, lying, money grubbing tw@t!!

Is that one of their efforts? Not very skilled are they?!!

There is a Brendan Rodgers Appreciation Society on Facebook. It was set up by a Watford supporting friend of my son. I think he's now looking for someone to take it over!!

The good thing about this is the fact that Watford are so p*ssed off! I'm not saying that out of spite but rather the fact that they are so angry about losing a manager who had only been with them for a few months indicates that he did an awful lot to please them in a short space of time. Yet further confirmation in my mind that we have secured the right guy.

wickedwhispers 2 managers in a row we've poached now. Can't believe everyone was so upset about Pardew! We're just as bad as a club.

What a complete load of Northamptons!! We did not poach them, we signed them in a fully above board process, within the terms of their contracts/agreements with there club, with the permission of their club and for an agreed fee. No different whatsoever to signing a player legitimately.
