Deathy
Silver Fox My guess is he saw pictures form the end of the game where some gooners may have left early, what with it being a complete mauling and the Emirates is pretty tricky to get away from

Or he's a simpleton

Sky even commented on the empty seats. Maybe fans were late or summink. But it was the home end.

But simpleton is good all the same.

Deathy No, the other end of the ground. Left of camera, not right.

Still 60k there though - i can see West Brom bringing a load if tickets are only a tenner

Game was 1,000 down on most games which will be the Wigan end. Once again  @ Deathy

indeed, utter bollocks, in actual fact wigan only had half the allocation (and still left most of it empty) and arsenal sold the additional 1500 or watever seats to their own fans

Six of the last ten finals have been one by one of the 'big four', and one of the others by Spurs. Four of the ten defeated finalists have been 'big four' sides, and Spurs have been the losing team twice. There's little evidence that the approach to this competition by the big clubs is particularly affecting who wins it.

Tbh I'd look at the smaller clubs like West Ham, Blackburn, Stoke, (and previously Reading), or whoever, who themselves play weakened sides in a competition they might have a chance of winning did they take it seriously.

TheMaraudingDog Leeds United v Liverpool 29,500

38,000+ but I'd like to know how getting 14,000 more than the league average shows them to be such good fans, surely they were only there to see Liverpool? Also, Ian Darke suggesting it will be the biggest crowd of the round presumably not commentating on Sky's game tonight.

Speaking of which, if we're using this as the Rumbelows Cup thread, Ian Darke and sidekick Gary Birtles would still sound ad if they worked for ITV, dreadful commentary skillz. As for Liverpool being lucky g, how many shots on target did Leeds have in the end? Lots of decent forward play but never looked like scoring (except for the time they did, marginal offside possibly right/possibly wrong and if it was given against Becchio serves him right for trying to "make sure")

Masses of red seats in their last Premiership home game. If this is CarLOLing cup, I'd tinker with the late 40k's.

Attendance 56,592

 only 10k out Jay

So United and City both at home on the same night, first time that's happened in a while. City taking the competition a bit more seriously, reduced their prices and their game is not on Sky and still United get more than double the turnout at Eastlands.

You can't use the ACS excuse as to why United got more bums on seats, fans don't have to buy Carling Cup tickets.

So where were all these Mancunians last night?

Still, those City can keep on thinking Manchester is blue if they like but we all know its RED and last night smashed that message home.

Taking personal victory in attendance figures is almost as bad as when Alad used to take personal victory in which TV channel was showing which team.

If Man Utd were on SS1 for the midday game and Liverpool SS2 for the evening game he would claim that it was confirmation that his team was bigger and better and would quite litteraly lord it up for ages based on that.

How else do you work out which club is the best supported in Manchester than by comparing attendances for similar fixtures on the same night? City were also give a MASSIVE head start (price, importance of game, not on SKY) and were still miles behind. I doubt very much that flocks of cars made their way up the M6 for this game and to get less than half of what United got is quite embarrassing really.
