Royalee Mills could well be a bit fed up at being in the reserves

Not as fed up as I am at us wasting a seven-figure fee on him.

You mean Ingimarsson. I trust Rodgers' judgement anyway, shame a few more don't.

No for Pearce. This will go back and forth but I don't care when we are winning :D

I agree with. Ivar's got experience at the back which is an asset alongside an inexperienced backline. At the same time we're meant to be building a team for the future this season and Pearce is the future - not Ivar. So long as we're in a relegation battle Ivar should play. If we get to March and are sitting pretty in mid table maybe it will be a good idea to give Pearce and Mills some games together.

Experience = excuse for being past it. Funny how this improvement in form and goals conceded per game has coincided with Pearce's return to the team, not Ingimarsson's.

Pearce has hardly been out of the team this season.

Actually, he was dropped for 5 games from Watford to QPR so I think you'll find he has. Funnily enough that was our worst run of the season, though you'd never know it from some of the comments made on here.

First cean sheet since when? Arguing the toss over whether Ingi or Rich Boy should be dropped is an irrelevance.

Those 5 games included:

1) A trip to West Brom (running away with Newcastle at the top)
2) A trip to QPR who were scoring for fun at the time
3) At home to Middlesbrough who have one of the best away records
4) A win away at Preston
5) a home draw with Watford

Might have been a poor run but those were very tough matches.

Also those were Ingimarsson's first matches back after being out for what must have been around 10 months. Hardly surprising he was a bit rusty really

It's got nothing to do with rustiness - he made his worst errors after being back for a few games, like QPR, Ipswich and Derby.

QPR everyone was sh*te (apart from Kebe), Ipswich I'll give you, Derby no huge mistake imho.

Letting a player run across right in front of you unchallenged when you were facing forward to him and have picked up nobody, to allow him to roll the ball across the 6 yard box for a tap-in? That's a pretty shoddy mistake.

It can take quite a few games for players to get back to match fitness and get their sharpness back. Why do you think teams play pre-season matches? He is still only ten matches into his comeback......

Also I notice you fail to comment on how difficult that run of 5 matches was.........obviously doesn't fit into your "agenda".;)

My point is that they're not really the sorts of mistakes that are from rustiness - it's not like he was out of position to begin with against Ipswich,it was just a poor header. Same thing with Derby it was just poor intelligence, he wasn't done purely on a turn of speed or something he could put right in a few games.

Yes they were tough games on paper, but to perform that badly against them is very poor and I think Ingimarsson was a key reason for that. QPR was a key example in proving that reverting back to 'experience' and Coppell's players doesn't work as we fielded our most 'experienced' side of the season, which turned in easily our worst performance.
