If it's marketing to local women with things like the Footballing Mums on the RFC website, it's not something either of you will ever see anyway.

I thought it was reducing the price of wine and adding noodles to the food available. :|

Of course, if the club REALLY were concerned with being Family Club of the Year and also attracting more women, they might think to ask to a cross-section of family supporters and women what they would like or whatever.

To be honest though, I can't think of anything that would make it "nicer" for me as a woman to attend matches - unless it was sending Matt Mills to sit next to me for a match....

I have 3 children but they're all way too old to be involved in soccer schools for a start.

Personally, I'm not interested in women's football either. I just don't see how some noodles and a reduced 1/4 bottle of wine, together with a one-off link to Breast Cancer Support day and a few more lines in a programme about the women's football team = RFC are doing great stuff for women and increasing their female fan base.

I doubt any woman has decided to suddenly start accompanying her bloke to the games because of the above. But that's just me, they must be doing something right to win this award.

^ Fair play, RL. Tbf to you, you are no band-wagon jumper as you first got into RFC back in the 1970s didn't you, when you used to be a man.

Seems to be more about attracting mothers and tbf at the first forum virtually all the other women started coming because of their families.

Why did you start coming to Reading matches?

Watched some football on tv and enjoyed it so asked my Dad if he would take me to see Reading, I loved it so we got a season ticket at Elm Park

He half supported Reading but hadnt been for years until I asked

Bit like me then - asked a relative to come with you the first time then carried on going regardless of whether they did or not. Tbh, I don't think there's many like us. Doesn't appear so when I ask around, not women anyway... although maybe I just haven't bumped into them yet.

+1. I know the people I sit with, but I only ever see them at football. Travel up and back by myself.
