VERY scrappy game last night. Windsor without Ben Harris after another red card last week. (Very good player at this level but a bit too much of the Young Rooney about him at the moment.)

Good to see Rob Bullivant back in goal - definitely a calming influence.

Both the last 2 games have seen the opposition skippers complimenting Windsor's young team on playing the game in the right way. One said could be Top 8, the other that we'll take points off the Top 5.

Not sure about that myself (I think there's a gulf between us and Top 5 tbh) but the team has come a long way in the last 3 months, that's for sure.

It really pleases me to see how much the club has changed for the better since Keith and Jim threw their toys out of the pram. I know Ben apologised for getting sent off last week and he knows he has some growing up to do. And what a change for people inside and outside the game to be talking about Windsor FC and the football being played rather than the touchline verbals and money.

SOUTHP Banbury Utd 4-0 Hemel Hempstead Town –‘The Puritans’ shocked the league leaders in a game that was only on due to some gargantuan efforts by the groundstaff at the Spencer Stadium. Good old fashioned ramshackle ‘stadium’ tucked away down a bumpy track behind the Railway Station.
Home side included former RFC trainee/youth lad Kynan Isaac recently arrived from Oxford City – he was very lively on a slick surface.
Had originally been heading for the Trophy tie at Court Place Farm (Oxford City v Bps Stortford) – BBC P@xford finally stopped gobbing on and on about the Three-Sided Blunderers just long enough to announce the City tie was off and express considerable surprise that Banbury was on.
So a quick detour from the B4074 across to the M40 and a mad dash through torrential rain saw us arrive right on KO.

Windsor 2 up after 90 seconds in Guernsey, both from Ben Harris, the 2nd an absolute worldie from the half way line.

That was never going to stick as Guernsey score goals for fun and that is what happened, eventually coming out 5-2 winners. Not helped by Windsor having a player sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity, which even G fans considered a little unreasonable considering 2 other defenders were in the vicinity.

Gotta be disappointed with that equaliser - short corner, free cross under no pressure, free header 6 yards out. That's a goal I'd expect Reading to concede this season (with the added Federici fumble for good measure).
