Bill Oddie This has really depressed me, the one player who as an indivual I didn't mind paying out good money to watch. An absolute genius with the ball at his feet. Doyle, Harper, Kitson, Shorey, Hunt,I would have preferred any of these to go before Glen. Really gutted about this. How much more damage can one club do to us, bloody pompey ! Burn you bastards

genius, really? if he is a genius then we can expect to see him in a few years time bombing down that wing for Chelsea or Man U, in fact fu ck it our Glen will be the main reason why we won the World Cup in 2010. i dont think so!! wakey wakey!!

lets all stop being so bias to our players, Glen is the first one to go and there will be others. last season was last season, lets support our club which is now a Championship club with Championship players and hope that we will have the quality to get back in the prem. i think we can bring in the quality to do so.

lets not hold it against players who wont to join the premiership, i would rather get paid 5/10k more and i wouldnt think twice about doing so. a footballers career can be very short.

chandog Shit
Little was one of the players we could nt really afford to lose
We are not getting any money for him and are now left with Kebe and Henry
Another position we need invest in and with our tight budget this will be difficult
Still glad oster has gone though :)

It's a 'no change' situation. We always needed to invest in this position.
Having anything from Little next season was always going to be a bonus (a hugely welcome bonus at that).

Admittedly Kebe looked very poor to my eyes, but his 5 appearances were against Liverpool, Arsenal, M'Boro and Everton away and at home to Villa.

He isn't going to be facing defenders of that quality next season, so it's clean slate time, surely? He could be the 5,000th player to look out of his depth in the PL but good enough in the league below.

Look forward, not backwards.

Hope that Harry’s going to bung the Fratton Park laundry lady a few extra quid now.

Except they don't...
OK, you may get a few teenage keyboard warriors trying to wind people up but I've only ever met people who have a deal of respect for what we have done and the type of club we are.

I meant in terms of the clubs fans.....not the club itself.

And other fans definitely do not respect our fans.

Where is the proof that neither Kebe or Henry will not step up next year?

Give 'em a bleedin chance before you dismiss them outright.

Its not me giving them a chance that counts its coppell
He doesnt seem to trust any youth players in the first team and picked oster over kebe at the end of last season
If coppell didnt pick them before he clearly doesnt think they are good enough

I don't think Coppell trusted youth players in a relegation scrap, but hopefully he will give 'em a chance now.

Equally, where is the proof that they will?

I mean, Kebe looks raw, at best and Henry is pretty much untried. Have either done anything that really make you think "yes, this is the player who will take us forwards"?

I think one issue is that Little is the type of player that could make a difference with a moment of skill and vision in what could turn out to be a tough, tight division next season. The second is that we've not really had a right midfielder of note for a season and we've just let another one go on top of Oster (who ended up being a bit of an RTG poster boy despite consistently not really being good enough)

Now, what that could mean is that we've a player lined up or Kebe/Henry has shown enough in training to convince Coppell. I hope that is the case.

Except they don't...

Yup. Exactly what I've experienced. There's a few Top 4 fans that simply have no clue how tight it is outside of their magic circle, mind.

Not bothered Little has gone....he was short term only as far as the future was concerned.
At least he has gone quickly though and thats the point if players want to leave get rid so that they can be replaced and fast.

Indeed, but it seems to be our own fans who get the most pleasure from laughing at the club. And sadly, most of then aren't teenage keyboard warriors.

They do appreciate who they have signed...someone who will at best be a bit part player for them next season. Why should they be excited by that?

Well first off our fans really aren't that different from fans at most clubs. Maybe some clubs have a higher proportion of young blokes whereas we have a broader spectrum and I suspect a higher % of female fans than some.
Secondly I've not experienced any 'lack of respect' from visiting fans , when travelling away or in general conversation with people.
And thirdly does anyone aged over 17 actually care about whether some stranger from another town 'respects' anything ? Surely we don;t need to have the 'respect' of some spotty youth from another town to make us feel good about our club and ouselves ?

The Reading way...

sell a starting 11 player for a couple million/or let go
state in press you can't find replacement
buy an african for a few grand who fails
give a youth kid a professional contract so squad looks deeper
Madejski loving it

I'd make sure to hold onto these players as they might have their faults, they will never be replaced with someone better.

Generally think this is for the best.

Blakey gets a final chance and big pay day and we don't go into next season with an injury prone player as a 1st choice player.

Now surely Coppell has to buy a right winger, a good one, who he has to spend money on and deal with the pressure.

Still wouldn't surprise me one bit if Kebe starts against Forest.

Good luck to Little. I would have enjoyed watching him tear up the Championship this season.

Im not saying they should be jumping for joy at this signing, just the arrogance of some of those comments! Because they won the F.A cup last season doesn't give their fans the right to expect all new signings to be top quality ones! There's nothing wrong with bolstering their squad especially now their in europe and in a position which they struggled to fill last season often playing someone out of position such as Utaka, Diop or Mendes.

Agreed all round. We were light on the right wing last season but heading towards anorexic in that department now
