Not one of the candidates mentioned appeals to me even slightly as I want Brian in charge

jonnyroyal1871 Half a dozen at best. Frequently less. Point being, Adkins could be seen as a sideways move.

Agreed. Although I'm not sure we're going to shell out a load of cash for a 'big' name considering we'll be paying off BM, NG and maybe the others. No one knew what BM was on, but regardless of how cosy that press conference was when Wolves came knocking, we can assume that BM got an attractive deal at the time.

Di Matteo gets a big mention here:

I guess the speculation is going to be like this all week.

I genuinely think we should look within the club again. It's worked before, and it keeps some of the identity to the club which has been built up through the last 15 years. I guess in terms of PR it would never be accepted now though - we'll just get some 'big name' mercenary in instead.

Di Canio - lets have some fun for a change - BMcD did a great job but you have to admit he is a tad boring!!

No to Parky.
No to Curbishley.
No to Sir Alex.

I think it'll be someone who's barely known, currently managing in Europe, that has come across Zingaravitch's radar at some point.

Unless he's working as a taxi driver in Moscow, no.

The Daily Mash think our next boss will be the abstract concept of 'A crushing sense of Futility'.

Di Matteo's a smokescreen.

Think of Jan - "we tried to buy Gylfi, it didn't work, here's Blackman & Akpan"

Same here, Di Matteo will turn us down/we haven't really approached him, here's Di Canio.

Why?

Because a reason we couldn't attract bigger signings ala Ince and Rogic is because they didn't have a oxf*rd clue who McDermott was and couldn't trust his ethos. If Di Matteo approaches them *Hi I won the champions league, would you like me to manage you? Yes Please Sir!

soggy biscuit We need someone recently proven to have made the team better than the sum of its parts and taken them up, preferably as champions, from the division we will shortly be in.

Brian McDermott?

Ian Royal Yes please:
Adkins.
Martinez if he gets sacked before we find a replacement, he won't leave for us for damn sure.

Maybe:
Curbishley if he's still got it, which I doubt.
Hughes if he's not allowed much money.
Dolan
Gary Neville
Di Matteo
Coyle

No thanks:
Di Canio
Parkinson
Murty
Warnock
Pearce
Gibbs
Brown
McCleish
Keane
Cotterill
Kean
McGhee
Sanchez

No Gus Poyet, Steve McLaren or Glen Hoddle that list.
