We need the win to stay on target, we need the win to shut the groaners up.

I fancy a seriously good win will start a great run so I'm going for 3-0 (or 3-1 if Lita gets another goal)

Hunt 2, Harte (maybe Long will get the fourth just when I was thinking, come on Shane, there's money on this.)

How can you quote a fourth goalscorer in a 3-0 win and then claim to be correct?

Sit down, Mr TROLI and I will explain.

Because I've already got a nice bet on Shane Long at 25-1
I fully expect him NOT to score.

I believed the game would be 3-0 or 3-1 as Lita often does well against us.

How are we doing?

And I kind of hoped Shane might score a fourth goal (but I wasn't holding my breath)

Did you see the BRACKETS? Did you see the word MAYBE?
Did you see the line, "just when I was thinking, come on Shane, there's money on this"?

and PS, Harte got two and Long got two, and it was 5-2, not 3-0 or 4-0, so how exactly am I "claiming to be correct"

other than

I fancy a seriously good win will start a great run

So why emboldening the parts about:

I'm going for 3-0 or 3-1....
Maybe Long will get the fourth

:?

I've got no problem with the "I fancy a seriously good win will start a great run" - fair play on that one - however you have highlighted 4 parts of the quote of which only two are correct (and one of those is only technically half correct seeing as Harte scored two goals).

Still, if it keeps your levels of sactimony up then crack on.

Wonderful thread. Spy the progression from play-off no-hopers to play-off hopefuls, to play-off certs to possible auto promotion challengers.

Brilliant.

Maguire Crunch time was ages ago and we fukked it up so please stop all this silly talk of getting the pLOLay offs.

We're just not good enough.

For all the fact that you are effectively right, we are still just about hanging in there enough to be in with a shot if we actually played up properly to our potential. We are capable of putting in a run of good performances... of course it won't happen.... the mindset isn't there at the moment. But all it takes is something to click.

Well I was half right. It really did just need something to click. At least that post is closer than my effort to predict the results of the last 12.

QPR 0 Derby 0 tonight. Good for us as QPR now know that only a win at Cardiff on Saturday will gain them promotion then - unless of course Norwich drop points on Thursday, which in turn is also good for us.

I appreciate that QPR have other games to gain promotion but fingers crossed anyway.

Whore Jackie Here's the final five rounds of games:

Norwich City v Nottingham Forest :x
Burnley v Swansea City 8)
Cardiff City v Portsmouth
Reading v Leicester City

Ipswich Town v Norwich City
Leeds United v Reading
Cardiff City v QPR
Portsmouth v Swansea City

Swansea City v Ipswich Town
Reading v Sheffield United
Preston NE v Cardiff City
Norwich City v Derby County

Portsmouth v Norwich City
Coventry City v Reading
Cardiff City v Middlesbrough
Millwall v Swansea City

Burnley v Cardiff City
Norwich City v Coventry City
Reading v Derby County
Swansea City v Sheffield United

Two highlighted games for each rival, seem the most obvious point-droppers.

1/2. C'mon Ipswich and QPR.

Snowball W 3-0 H Middlesbrough (If we can't win, then we deserve nothing) YES (5-2)
D 1-1 A Ipswich Town (could see us tonked there, tho) We did better 1-1
W 2-0 H Preston (Surely?) YES 2-1
W 1-0 A Barnsley (we might "fail" and only draw 1-1) YES 1-0
D 1-1 H Portsmouth (They are on a run of form, but we COULD win) We did better 2-0
L 0-2 A Nottm Forest (Hard to see anything but a defeat but they have stuttered lately) We did better 4-3
W 2-0 A Scunthorpe (Away, so no guarantees, but they owe us) YES 2-0
W 1-0 H Leicester (Hard to call. We can't afford a defeat, that's for sure) YES 3-1
D 2-2 A Leeds United (I have a feeling Leeds will be 8/9th by then and we could win it) YES but 0-0
W 5-0 H Sheffield (They are going down and we usually get a 5-0 every season) OOPS 2-3
W 2-0 A Coventry (Fancy us, but can imagine 0-0, too) Got this right with my "alternative"
W 4-0 H Derby (Savage cameo in his last game but have to fancy a good win) YES 2-1, even with a "weaker" side.

7 Correct results from 12, 1 correct alternative.

Two correct scores

3 results we did better than predicted. One cock-up

W9 D3 L1 25-6 (78 Points -Uber-Optimist, winning at Leeds)

W8 D3 L1 24-6 (75 Points - Optimistic, draw at Leeds - results as bold above, definitely possible)

W6 D4 L2 21-8 (70 Points - Slightly Pessimistic -I genuinely feel we'll beat this total)

I wonder how the Everton game will affect things?
If we were to get a drubbing there (quite possible) it could affect confidence.
If we were to get a draw and a replay we might be distracted by our "cup run". How often to cup sides lose league form!
Ditto an unlikely WIN on Merseyside.
