What did I miss?!
Repeat of Preston game?
Literally the exact same game except we played a bit better before hitting self destruct.

karbota Bring in too many foreign players, management, coaching staff, what do you expect?. No passion, no fight, white flag again. Gomez mark 2, mid table at best.
Rafael 7 Did nothing wrong
Yiadom 4 Rubbish, drop.
Gibson 4 who?, drop
Morro 7 good solid performance
Richards 8 Another good game.
Laurent 7 okish but very lazy.
Rino 5 poor again, drop
Semedo 4 lost, drop.
Esteves 6 shows a lot of promise but too many costly mistakes.
Joao 4 drop, he is not interested.
Puscas 2 Remind me again who said hes getting better, get rid.
Olise 6 not living up to his early promise.
Baldock 7 Skilful player has a lovely touch, If only he had started.
Aluko 6 Effort has improved this season.
We really are paying the price for the loss of the likes of Swift, and Gunter.

Yeh think you've hit the nail on the head here; its the bloody foreigners. Once we get Brexit finally over the line we might stand a chance in the new year. #BritainFirst.

Dick Habbin's hairdoretro royal Can't believe some people have even given Esteves 5 I have never seen a professional player look like a school boy scared to get involved, can he sprint ? Only thing I've seen him do well is a few pops at goal. He isn't ready for championship football, our midfield are being pulled out of position trying to cover his poor positional play, he's always looking to play the ball backwards. I wish him luck in his career but right now we can't afford to carry him, also hope he proves me wrong, just don't see it happening any time soon.
Ummm, I gave him a 4 and that after I added an extra point for a decent effort and being generous.
But hey, we are still top - which none of you Knobheads would have predicted at the start of the season - Pauno has rapidly built some sort of belief and a style which should pay dividends when we get folk back from injury - even the Bag of Cement that is Meite *ahem* (that's for you, SWLR) - and anyone can beat anyone.
But yeah - I would have played Holmes at CB today with Yiadom at RB and Esteves dropped - although Yids struggled with the pae first game back.
Baldock is like a breath of fresh air every time he comes on. What a pro.

Millsy I’m surprised people are bothering to give ratings.
Coventry I can accept as we were good enough., the last two games I can’t.
Two 3-0 home defeats in a row raises eyebrows and serious question marks even in a relegation season with a manager on his way out.
To be facing this when top of the table and some incredibly go0d players who are playing som e actually very good football with all the benefits of no fans etc is very worrying. There is clearly something very wrong with the team atm, something has rocked them. Rafael ridiculous keeping against Coventry. Today the first he didn’t even move and the shot was hardly a surprise and seemed very slow. The second pure cockup. The third a defensive error as was also first. You could see the look of despair in Semedos face after all that great work that saw us battering them to see us losing to two mistakes. Completely deflated the attack.
This is a serious yet fixable problem that needs fixing NOW.
Whether that’s getting in an experienced solid CB and doing some major work on their psyche and defence I don’t know. That’s Paunos job.
Our position is not a mistake. We deserve it and are actually that good. The last few games need a fix.
We chance on the perfect combination of players and manager perhaps every 10 years or so. Not to capitalise now by getting in decent cover or doing whatever the hell it takes would be a mistake.

Looking in the Stoke forum there were loads of comments about how deep the two central defenders sit and I think that’s part of the issue. The whole team needs to keep a much higher line as teams are finding it too easy getting the ball near the box as we sit so deep. Full backs are quick, but with Pornos insistence on playing out from the back and Morrison being slow, he doesn’t seem to want to push up, but not doing so leaves too much space for the opposition in our half.

Very good point. We are leaving a huge amount of space in that final third. Rhimamota and Laurent though for me are the ones dropping too deep.

Agreed I know bugger all about football strategy ,but there did seem a huge gap between the midfield and the front two yesterday.TBF however apart from a stodgy period after half time for about twenty minutes, until the subs came on;the creative attacking side of our game was ok.It was just the defence that was s##te.

That could potentially because we weren’t playing a natural AM - we had 3 similar central midfielders, but despite Semedo getting into some attacking areas in the 1st half, he’s more suited to a DM role.
IMO, we should’ve started with either Olise or Aluko in that AM position, and had Rino playing slightly more advanced than Laurent (who I thought had a good game)
Would like to make the comment that, despite a shocking back pass for the third, I thought Gibson had a good game

Snowflake Royal McIntyre is a good player, but you can't expose him to pace. Next to Morrison and with Richards forward and Laurent/Rino not covering he'll be in trouble with a high line.
Play to his weaknesses it's an issue, play to his strengths it's not.
Gibson looked like he was in tears at the end. Good player, rather develop the one who is committed to us and we don't have to pay for to keep though, as always. Don't want to see Tom leave and end up playing successful Championship football against us in a year or two.

I think the tears may have been something to do with smashing his bollocks into the goal post

Looked more like the rib area tbf, any news of any significant injury

cp I'm not accepting that this game is over. Many of the goals were illegal and were counted after the time allowed for them to be scored. In fact Reading won, yes they did. A beautiful beautiful win.
