Thou Voice
urz_1871 Well that was a pile of shite. Don't think any of the players put a decent shift in today. Then again I was in row bb right in the front row and didn't have the best of views behind the goal.

Also got a ball smashed in the side of my head during the warm up. Still have a headache!!!

...did you not duck?

A ball is fairly large and pretty easy to keep an eye on.

DO YOU SEE?

unfortunatly for me I wasn't looking at the pitch at the time which is why I didn't see the ball coming at me.

DO YOU SEE?

Just got in.

Absolutely woeful performance by us and by far the worst since McD took charge.

I'd be interested to know what he said to Tim Dellor after the game.

We paid £20 each for our train ticket, £23 for our match ticket plus food and drink money - and that "performance" by the players today really did look like they were taking the p!ss out of all the fans who had paid good money to turn up.

We did have something to play for, as high a position as possible. Sig looked to be trying. McAnuff was awful today. It doesn't bode well if we play like that and we're about to lose Griff, Bertrand and Zurab.

That said, excellent response from the fans today - the jobsworth stewards can oxf*rd right off though.

RoyalBlue To 'Sue' who rang BBCRB to say we shouldn't have a go at the players - I bet you weren't at the game were you?!
To be fair, she was right. We do need to hold onto Jobi McIntyre.
Who :|
Y'know, Jobi! Jobi McIntyre. The guy Sue mentioned on BBCRB. We need to hold onto him.

Decent, 1/2 to about 3/4 stood for most the game, pretty much constant noise, apart from a few quiet spots when our football got worse.

That was what was most depressing. Despite some excellent support (even at 2 and 3-0 down) the players still couldn't be bothered/raise their game. What more motivation did they need than a very full and loud away end?

Super_horns Yes there wasn't much effort from you guys once we took the lead (sure I saw Nigel Gibbs get a fiver from GT and Mackay after the game..;) )

Very good support with all those inflatables...

I must say you should have had a penalty at 0-0 when Taylor pushed Church (?) down with a rugby style tackle...bare in mind the 2 penalties against us in previous games for nothing!

Anyway see you next season.

Well done on the win. You can relax a bit now.

Great day out, few beers, good atmosphere and then the football started. The game was like a pre season friendly
We were denied what looked from the other end of the pitch, like a stone wall penalty and then it was a total snorefest.

We were awful from keeper to striker.
NO ONE came out of that today with any praise.
The Special crapness awards go to Griffin, Kebe, Mcnuff, Sig and Mills.

Thats my summary! Good night!

Nothing. The stand has been empty for a good few seasons now.

The East Stand is due to be demolished. They can't do it at the moment as it still houses the players changing rooms and other functions.

You'll probably have noticed the corners being filled in. From the away end, looking towards the Rookery (the stand behind the opposite goal), the left corner is being turned into accommodation for the NHS campus (part of Watford hospital) and the right hand corner will host club offices and the changing rooms. Once this corner has been built, the players changing rooms will relocate here. The managers dugouts is also switching to the opposite side of the pitch (being joined onto the Rous stand - that double decker stand running the length of the pitch) and then they'll be able to demolish/rebuild the East Stand.

Once complete, the stadium capacity will increase from its present 19,000 to something in the region of 23,000.

Having seen Reading put on a great performance against Newcastle last week (despite the result) and Watford scrape a narrow win against Plymouth the week before, I thought Reading would demolish Watford.

One would also have thought the same thing about Cardiff v Sheffield Wednesday. Okay, Cardiff still won that but only by one goal - Sheffield Wed could have equalised as they already had two goals.

Today, apart from a win, the only thing Reading had to play for were the 2,000 fans and also the record book (trying to reach 8th). Whilst this is important (especially the 2,000 fans who spent good money on a day out) - it pales into insignificance when compared to Watford's fight, which is:

1. Remain in the Championship. Going down could be very damaging financially especially when considering that they were so close to going into admin just before Christmas.
2. Boost season ticket sales - especially as some fans are being hesitant in light of Watford's poor performances and not knowing which league they'll be in next season. If Watford weren't seen to be putting in an effort, this would effect season ticket sales and will have a profound effect on the whole of next season!

To summarise, its amazing what can happen when a club is fighting for something. Just look at the magnificent FA cup run this year.

Have to agree with RL and others, what an utter utter shower of sh**te that was :| honestly perhaps the most gutless and pathetic display I've had the misfortune to witness in 15 years as a fan :(

I can't even be bothered to give ratings etc as the players couldn't even be bothered to show up today.

Still the rest of the day out was good, the Bishops in Paddington was full of Royals and it was good to finally put names to faces despite my relative anonymity :D InfLOLatables were also a joy to behold :)
