You live by the sword, you die by the sword.

I'm sure he'll pick himself up and soon be back in 3rd division management again.

As we said many years ago, especially when some idiots were talking him up to be the manager of England,he will end up in his rightful place at Brentford or Dagenham.
This sacking was no surprise here in the South-he has been on borrowed time for ages as his ego is even greater than that of the chairman and in those circumstances there is only ever one winner.
Mr Hype does o.k when the cheque book is open but any manager who couldn't (or wouldn't) find a place in his team for Mascherano and Tevez as happened at West Ham really doesn't have a clue.

Reading RR's quote, it looks as if the new owners have come in, looked at how much was being spent on the Academy, how many players were in the first team from the Academy and didn't think Pardew was doing the right thing. A bit of a curve ball, but maybe they felt that someone else might try to do things on the cheap with the Academy.

He won over half his matches as manager, losing just 12 or 13 or so, in 65 games.

Agreed

Although ISTR he was successful at Forest of bringing through some youth players such as Andy Reid and Michael Dawson...with the statement of the Saints board in mind, he'd seem like a decent choice?

2 defeats on the bounce since his sacking, he must have done something bad, because it doesn't seem to be about his managerial capabilities.

Offer withdrawn. He won't resign. Wants compensation agreement sorted with Scunthorpe first. Saints mess continues.

Phil Brown, after talking with Southampton chairman Nicola Cortese, It was very interesting, there's a very, very ambitious board. A very ambitious chairman. It is an ambitious club and certainly one that does interest me. They seem to be doing it right in the backroom: they're building the club from within and they've got a long-term plan. It's very, very ambitious. Everything about it is ready to move on.

Nicola Cortese Nah, oxf*rd the orange tosser, let's get the physio from Scunny.

Eddie Howe has rejected Southampton according to the Bournemouth chairman.

Just heard that the first 3 words of your post are spot on.
Apparently there were fisticuffs between AP and Fonte at the training ground and 4 of the players approached the chairman and suggested that they would put in transfer requests if he didn't sack the philanderer.
The chairman, who doesn't like the hype one,did the right thing.

Since his last game in charge, where they won 4-0 away, Saints have played 4 lost 4 conceded 8 and scored 0, good work chairman.

They certainly look like the results of a squad pulling together after getting rid of a manager they didn't want!
