This'll be the fella then......... :D

MEXICAN tycoon Carlos Slim Helu was yesterday named the world's richest person.
The 70-year-old's £37.5billion fortune pipped that of Microsoft owner Bill Gates, last year's richest man, by around £300million.
It is only the second time Gates has been off top spot since 1995.
Helu - the first non-American to top the list for 16 years - controls a string of telecoms firms, including Telmex and America Movil

No way.

I don't want any Arabs running Reading FC.

Not in a million years. ....................and I don't give a toss how much money they've got.

Predictable

Bovvered!

I'm afraid I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.
What would there motives be?
Nothing that would benefit Reading in the long run, that's for sure.

This has been dug up from about 2 years ago same old story ... nothing to come from it.

Why would a Rich Arab want to buy reading when there are so many other clubs about who are in a better postion

That comment confuses me. Which other clubs? Prem clubs will either cost significantly more money or have a huge debt hanging over them, and there aren't many Championship clubs who are stronger financially or who are much better on the pitch than us.

I dunno. Relatively debt-free, decent stadium, PP to expand it, very large catchment area, fringe of promotion from the CCC

there are no clues even as to the identity of the current rumoured purchaser, still less of their intentions

Just says that the interest was from Arabs last time round. Could be anyone now.

I reckon it is Snowball and his consortium of fans with their £5 per week proposal.

The rumour obviously came from HNA. Lazy journos again........

oh and when it pops up in the 'post, I tweeted Jonny Fordham about it early this morning... OK not much of a scoop, just a case of reading the papers earlier than him!

It will never happen...he may say he wants to sell but that just gives him more column inches for his PR bandwagon....

with the recent demise of his Station Hill development plans, why would he want to sell the club and derail his PR machine? ...the only thing he'd have to hang onto then would be the Madejski Academy...and it would be unlike him to hide under a bushel...and staring at his glass cased motor cars!

Whenever hes spoken about selling the club , he's always caveated it with certain considerations/requirements, which gives him a get out to decline any offer made anyway....no doubt there have already been offers but i really dont think hes interested

..face up to it chaps....he's here for the long haul (maybe another 20!) !
