ZammoEddie Wallbank on X I understand that, as has been reported, the takeover of #ReadingFC is imminent. Senior figures at the club are impressed with Couhig who plans to improve the business and sell for a profit in the medium term. It is also worth noting that the EFL...
....have been integral in keeping Reading afloat. It is understood they have been extremely lenient with the club due to the nature of the situation, and ultimately have helped save the Ding; bending their own rules at times. Credit where credit is due.

On Strings Fantastic news. Also nice to hear the EFL have been extremely lenient with us in the last few months because of the circumstances (Dai deliberately being a cnut). Some respect returned to the EFL.

Our situation has never been the fault of the EFL
They are applying the rules (that we voted for in ratification)
Everyone knows who holds the blame

Of course not, but it's desperately appreciated that they have shown leniency in recent months due to the cause of our problems. They could easily have punished us further with points deductions and an extended transfer ban. They can see our problems are because of one poisonous little cretin, and they've stepped up for us. Without that we might not have a football club right now.

WestYorksRoyal Anyhow, Eddie has a decent track record. It does feel like the millionth time the deal has been "imminent" or "all but done". Isn't it 3 weeks since the telegraph said 2 weeks?

Was Bury their learning curve?

Pepe the Horseman We should have an EFL day where we all dress up as our favourite EFL employees.

Have there been instances where we could have been punished but weren’t ? Would be interesting to know where this leniency has been applied. If we have been lightly treated I wonder what other clubs think of that ?

I would suggest that there’s no way the EFL would make public (deliberately) if they’d been lenient for exactly that reason
