Seeing as the transfer window would be shut and not a lot of money anyway any new manager would have to work with what we already have. So a big name who likes to come in and sell a few and buy a few to freshen things up won't really work. We will need more of a coach that can use what we have but in a different and more exciting way than they are at the moment. Someone like Craig Shakespeare who I'm assuming is still available for a managers job and wouldn't cost us much.

If Stam does end up staying, I wonder if he'd consider shaking up his assistants etc.

We don't look especially fit, and the coaching doesn't seem to have improved the players at all this year.

Stam is quite a good figurehead in fairness. He earns respect and obv his name can maybe help get the right players in, as I suspect it did with Elphick. But if there was someone who could help him on the tactical side better than what his current mates do, that might be a step in the right direction

This is very boring but I like to watch the warm ups before a game and the fitness coach tends to get them to do exactly the same thing each time. Having got to a decent level in coaching myself (in terms of qualifications) you have to mix it up all the time otherwise players get bored and won't put in that effort. I could be reading way too much into it but possibly if the players are "phoning in" their warm ups in training and before games it could be a reason the injuries occur?

interesting that OMA, as I noticed exactly the same thing re: the warm ups, and was commenting to my son on it before the Brentford game. We do exactly the same thing before every game.

Like you say, not sure that is helping the players get mentally tuned into the game either, as well as the physical side.

Henley Royal 1 Perhaps Cowley at Lincoln then as i seem to have lost all senses .

If they keep doing good things at Lincoln, this one might be worth keeping an eye on, but not for another few years.

Lincoln currently sitting 10th in L2 after winning the conference last year.

To be fair I think that's bullshit - as if the team would stop training because the manager got sacked? Oh ok, let's cancel warm down training and risk some more injuries while we sack the manager ... yeah sure.

It wouldnt be wise - considering our injury problems.

But I wouldn't discount it with the way things are currently working out.

We couldn't even organise a half decent pre season schedule, so I wouldn't discount the rumour

Probably cancelled because Stam (In his own tiny and blinkered mind) thought they deserved a day off after playing so well

Harry Redknapp if he is available.
Experience, common sense,
Man management and
A bit more guile than we are used to.
And if it ruffles the establishment up then even better.

I absolutely hate it hearing about someone losing their job but in this case it’s definitely the right decision. Will be sad when he goes, everyone that cared about the club wanted it to work

The problem is that those news stories are not exactly saying he is being sacked ... but he's 'on the brink' ... well surely he's been on the brink for a while. Let's hope it's not just idle speculation, but he really gets the boot. Agree with others that I don't like to see managers being sacked etc. but this has gone on too long and I can't see it getting any better.

oxf*rd. That. I'd rather keep Stam and get double relegated than have that shifty piece of shit near the club.
