If four different managers failed with a similar squad then maybe it's not the manager's fault...

A small piece of comfort in an otherwise shitty season.

But why go from one relegated club who are financially stable, to another who aren't?

parachute payments or something

bigger crowds mean bigger wage bills, better players

What's the wage cap in League 1 60 or 80% of turnover?

Wolves must be way over that already so will be a lot of turnover this year.

Much bigger club, parachute payments should mean the best budget in that league. Personally I think P'Boro have the better chance of an instant return, but once they're back, he knows they're limited again, where as Wolves could keep pushing upwards.

Do Wolves keep the parachute payments? I always thought they did, but I've heard it suggested they only keep them if they stay in the Championship. Not sure on this one, but if they lose those it'll be a financial disaster for them.

Portsmouth seemed to have held on to theirs post relegation.

They'll wait a week or two for Pardew.

But Wolves seem to be in much worse condition than Pboro. Disaffected fans, boardroom turmoil, financial instability etc, whereas Boro have a sound financial backer, who also seems fairly sound, and their fans seem to be happy where they are. I dont understand why you'd move, personally, but then again I'm not a football manager.

:|

So if any manager resigns on the same day that another is sacked, then he must be going for that job?

FWIW, I thought Saunders came across quite well post-Brighton. Surprised they've sacked him, considering his success in the lower leagues. Still, at WoLOLves.
