Even when the game settled down, we've offered no attacking threat. Meanwhile Reading have looked far too quick for us.

Look at the Reading players when they press, almost sprinting compared to the Latics players.

Reading still have major ownership issues, have been under embargo for 2 or 3 years, barely signed anyone this summer and been restricted to frees and academy players more than us. They did less business and spent less than us this summer but they were still miles better coached, more motivated, competitive and competent than us.

They`re arseholes for giving Bindon stick when he got what could have been a serious head injury, and I fully expect the comments to reflect that.

....did a quick sweep of the match thread on 'Into The Valley' & they've picked up on the weird stat that today's goal times exactly matched the two that Femi got in our 2-0 win in the same fixture last Feb. ..... spooky! :?

I'll get me Anorak ...... 8)

Nathan Jones and their captain reckon they dominated the game. They had a good 15-20 minutes at the start the second half, but besides that, we at least matched them. In fact we dominated large parts of it.

yet fcuked-up Southampton enough for them to sack him and employ Ruben…who was ‘as expectably’ sacked as their fall-guy’

He became our manager

Thank you Scumhampton

I mean, see what you want and ignore the rest.

They dominated us a bit second half until the first goal, which at the time it went in was a little against the run of play. But we had utterly dominated them for about the first 30 minutes of the first half.

Once we scored it was more even. We caused them a lot of problems. They had a few good efforts and it took two great saves from Pereira to stop them. Although by the second one they were already 2-0 down.

We had more goals, more shots, more possession and a higher pass accuracy. But sure Nathan. You 'dominated' us.

And this from their captain: https://www.charltonafc.com/news/docher ... e-mistakes

But yeah, having re-read them, they're not quite as blinkered as I thought.

Other than saying we celebrated like we'd won the cup, they reckon Forde lost them at least a point. Fairly even game.

I think he actually came closer to nearly gaining them one. Our approach completely changed the second we scored after he was sent off. We'd been creating plenty of chances and dominating the game up until then. Afterwards we simply stopped playing, with Bindon and Mengue playing at walking pace to run 20 minutes off the clock passing between each other and then hoofing it to Bristol. They suddenly stopped worrying about defending and just threw everything at it.

As for playing like it was a cup final, who was it who had their goalkeeper up for pretty much the whole last 5 minutes?

They're not saying we "played" the game like a cup final, they're saying we celebrated like we'd won a cup final. A bit like the Burton manager a few weeks ago they don't understand that our players walk around the whole pitch every home win to thank the fans. They're not as special as they think they are.

Any time any fan says about another teams fans that "they celebrate like they won the cup", I just translate it as, "I wish we had passionate fans like that."

It's such a weird insult. We literally l go to games to cheer on and celebrate goals and wins.

Oh the irony!… constantly slated for being tinpot and no atmosphere, playing in a soulless bowl. We show passion and support for a team that is literally battling adversity on and off pitch they say we celebrate like won the cup as has been said elsewhere we are just happy we still have something to support and celebrate.

At least we are the best team in our town (city)!
