Yep, without doubt the worst Premiership in its history. Utter yawn fest from start to finish. Yesterday’s Man Utd vs Arsenal game was a prime example……..anyway, back to Liverpool…….I am enjoyed the Anfield scenes prior to Gerrard’s last game. In a footballing world that is now completely and utterly money oriented it is (or was) refreshing to see a top class player plying his trade for one club for his entire career. Thought the send-off was magnificent. We all know that Liverpool fans will jump on the grief bandwagon when it rolls into town but they have an ‘old school’ tradition that continues to this day despite the ever changing footballing world. No other club comes close to matching it.

On the pitch they were an utter disgrace though. Considering the emotion surrounding the game against Palace they put on a performance that only Nigel Adkins would have been proud of. The problem Liverpool have though is that until a mega-rich Russian / Arab turns up wanting to plough his dough into the club they will be forevermore destined for fifth or lower. If Rodgers stays they could well be next season’s Newcastle.

I would say Liverpool fans are certainly a 'special' bunch. I've never known a set of fans with a sense of humour bypass as them.

Post up a joke about Liverpool and you won't get a witty retort. All you will get is "5 times".

And let's not forget the Suarez t-shirts in support of him being racist. Very ill judged. No other club comes close to matching it.

I'll give him credit for staying, that's quite rare these days. Did he genuinely want to stay or was it the death threats that made his mind up?

Team loyalty is rare these days and I think they hit the jackpot with him.

Haven't seen a huge amount of them on TV this season but from what I have, Gerrard's decline as a player has been pretty dramatic.

I'm a little confused with all this Gerrard being the last player to be a one club man........

I thought he was off to another club for next season, not retiring?! :|

Slightly confused, but everyone's confusion. Gerrard joins Liverpool as a child and stays until his mid-thirties and this is despite interest from bigger and richer clubs. He then decides to take a busmans holiday in the States as he cannot face playing against beloved 'Pool. #simples

Sterling wants to leave. No surprise really. For the development of our good English young players they really need to playing in the UCL consistently.

Liverpool should cash in quick and good riddance to him, he'll spend next season on Man City's bench no doubt and get the odd 5 minutes here and there. The season after he'll be on loan at Stoke.

So that rules out any English clubs then.

Agreed to an extent. I think he'll always be better than Stoke.

A player who at his best is well worth £50m, but has only produced it for half a season each over the last two years. He'll look at Liverpool failing to make the CL having taken only 8 of their last 24 points, and probably not consider that his lack of form since February has contributed to that.

If City/Chelsea and 20 starts a season is for him, then fair play, go get it.
