Would still really like to see Morrison + Mariappa as first choice to begin with, I'd really like to see that partnership given a chance to develop in the Championship.

No pun intended but I think it's got more legs than a pairing including Pearce...

TBM Lets be fair to him, he's never said he's wanted to leave - he just wanted a pay rise, which tbh we all want in our job

I doubt the Liverpool and Newcastle links were true - just the papers saying "former manager must want him"

and the club called his bluff, "give me a pay rise or I'm off", now he's come crawling back because no-one else thinks he's any good.

This isn't true, there was plenty of interest from lower half PL teams.

Yeah right, according to DRK.

I hope he fires DRK for embarassing him and ruining his image with the fans.

2 years?

One to get us promoted, with a year remaining to give us a return when we agree to sell him to a prem club if we fail to go back up.

How does that work? The first year to get us promoted, the second year would be in the Prem.

Oh I see. Well, if we fail to go back up at the end of the coming season, we should get rid of the lot of them - we have pure quality there and, as I said, we should expect to be top 3 shirley?

He plays this season- if we go up, he will get the expected pay rise etc, possibly even another new contract... If we do not get promoted- if we fail...he will go. He will want a move to a prem club. By making sure he has a further year on his contract, he will have a value. If he didn't have time left, he would leave on a free.

Not rocket science.

Lalala Rougier

Lalala Rougier I am really pleased about this! Maybe controversially with some. But i don't doubt his heart isn't at Reading. His performances have always shown that. I do just think he has either received some terrible advice on how to handle this situation by his agent, or he did just genuinely feel that he was worth more than the contract being offered to him initially. As a player of the season the year before and now a full international, maybe he had a case. Either way, let's be glad this has been put to bed finally!

A Billy Sharp style double negative there.

I think mine made sense at least........?

No, sorry. According to you you have no doubt that his heart is not at Reading. I feel sure that is 180 degrees off from what you meant say.

I swear Shane Long did the same thing. He signed a new contract and then left us a short while after.
