SCIAG Tbh I’m more interested in away kits because they’re so unpredictable.

Lol, yes never a truer word said.

Who designs these things, and what GCSE do you need to be able to do it?

With RFC being 150 years old next year, surely the club should be erring towards an anniversary shirt. Preferably shirt sponsor free too.

Will be the season after, Macron confirmed in their press release, when the partnership was announced, they were aware of the anniversary and will be producing a special kit for it.

Next season, club will definitely need a shirt sponsor. And a sock sponsor, a boot sponsor, a Kingsley sponsor, a big screen sponsor.....

The anniversery falls during next season though, the club was founded in January 1871.

Apparently not. There seems to be no evidence to back that idea up, and it's therefore thought to have happened some time in the 1871/72 season, on the basis that it would have been weird to have not played a match for a whole year after forming.

The club was officially formed Christmas Day 1871. So technically the season after next is 150 years.

There is no evidence for this either. If it's 'official' it's just the club making it up.

We can be pretty sure it was formed sometime between Nov 1871 and Feb 1872 and the FA Annual of 1873 gives 1871 as the year of formation but no-one has ever found a report of the exact date.

Next season it the centenary of our League membership, although I'm not sure how a 1920/21 revival kit of navy stripes with navy shorts would go down with the fans.

150 years since foundation straight after too so will be interesting to see what celebrations etc. are put together by the club/STAR and whether there will be a slew of books, games, toys, shirts, kit, cutlery, clothes, porcelain, coins, medals, pictures, dvd/Blu-rays etc.

Whatever is planned it shouldn’t be too hard to beat the 100th birthday celebration - relegation to division 4

Could we see something similar on our away kit  I think it is pretty cool, tbh.

but the most striking feature is the depiction of lion claw tears on the right shoulder “revealing” the famous horizontal green and white stripes of Sporting’s Home colours.

The supposed culprit also appears in the full colour crest and in embossed form low down on the shirt.

Was that our original kit? I would go for a remake of whatever our first kit was. We can have a break in hooped kits for one season. Think it would increase kit sales for 2 years. People would buy something different and then buy the first hooped kit back.

Original kit was prison-like hoops.

It was the kit we wore when joining the football league, hence the significance. We started playing in that kit some time between 1879 and 1891, and stuck with it, barring one season, until 1938.

http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Reading/Reading.htm

If all founding members of the third division reverted to the kits from their first league season, you'd see these changes...

Brentford: White shirts, navy shorts
Bristol Rovers: White shirts, navy shorts
Crystal Palace: Claret shirts with sky blue sleeves, white shorts
Gillingham: Black & white stripes, white shorts
Luton: White shirts, black shorts
Norwich: Green & yellow stripes, black shorts
QPR: Green & white hoops, white shorts
Reading: navy and white stripes, navy shorts
Southampton: red & white stripes, navy shorts
Watford: Black & white stripes, black shorts

I'd love to see Watford bring back their turn of the (20th) century kit - red, yellow and green stripes - lovely.

Correction. Black and white hooped onesy complete with a Mr Snuggles nighttime sleepybyes cap and optional over culottes to hide any possible modesty issues should a person of the opposite what-not get within 500 yards.
