LightwaterRoyal You're right we dont HAVE to do that now, but you can't change history.

For the level we were at Gorks, Legiertwood and Roberts were pretty significant signings and investments. They're odd examples to throw out there to make some point about limited resources.

The players released from Premier League clubs is a great place to start looking in our current position, hence the very good signing of Wayne Bridge this week.

FridaysGhost First Post, I accept all abuse pre-emptively. I've watched this board for a few years to get transfer info and now I've deided to join. Two things, Etherington and Albrighton seem to be good calls if they come without baggage, I'd choose Albrighton if it's either/or. Also, is there some sort of virus on HNA, I have watched some posts with interest and might have replied but they have all suddenly changed?

You got banned I presume.

I suggest you have a good curry and then a long time in the loo. With luck, your other brain cell may be excreted and if re-attached to it's twin, you may eventually post something to do with football. We can all only hope.

Signing like this would be nice... a young, attacking midfielder.

I'm IN solely for his full name of Georgi Ventsislavov Milanov. We should also swoop for his twin brother that plays CB.

Would cost a few quid no doubt though. I'll buy him on Fifa and report back.

Anton says we will sign 5-7 players and possibly 2 will join this week in today's Post.

http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/

“I think there will be five to seven new players coming in, including a couple this week so we’ll keep our fingers crossed.

“We’ll do the deals that we know we want to do.

“We have the targets locked up right now and hopefully they will work out. You always have interest from other clubs so we’ll see where we are.”

All looks very positive for Reading at the moment which is odd having just been relegated.

''We said at the end of last season that the number one target and the only target is to win the league, so there’s no pressure.'' Loved that bit.

Interesting to see if these 5 to 7 players he wants to bring in are first team quality or prospects.

We have the targets locked up right now

hard hitting recruitment tactic.

"sign, or you will never leave this room"

Does the 5-7 include Bridge? or 5-7 more? [then he does say at the end "We need to strengthen with five players so we need to spend money, but it’s all about getting the right quality."

At least Anton's henchmen will be busy over upcoming weeks.

Loving the intent. Now for the action.

I'd guess it will be guys who are either out of contract or have been made available for transfer by their clubs.

Baird and Sharp at a guess

Why do you think we'd be limited to out of contract players?

And Baird? You mean Chris Baird? Why would we be going for him?

Can do a job in central midfield, centre back and right back (we need one of those). I would say he is better than Leigertwood and made quite a lot of appearances last season for Fulham. Would be a very useful, if not exciting, squad addition.
