URZZZZZ They also say we were shite today. And the majority of them think Drenthe should have got a second yellow
http://WWW.northstandchat.com

Agree with the royston comments, could have easily got another yellow, support wasnt great today but we didnt have much to shout about, apart from the kid a few rows back and a number of seats across, who felt the need to shout every 10 minutes saying stuff like, "Anton this is why you need to spend money" "Anton spend some money" "Ref you're rubbish" and a bunch of mumbled crap that no one understood.

Er...they sound like us!

Was always going to be tough last night, again though it highlights the problems , we have very little in the final third. I hope Brian is on to the owners saying we need one or two loans in the forward department.

Sickened to concede that late on & past the allotted time is hard to take but I thought
both teams were poor last night in a game that was littered with missed placed passes & poor finishing.

The match stats on the BBC website were interesting. We had a marginal advantage in possession 53% against 47% for Reading. However, they appeared to make more of their possession than us. Reading had 16 attempts on goal with 5 on target. We had 12 attempts with ONE on target, so even if our one on target had gone in we still wouldn't have won. Reading had 7 corners to our 1. So a lot more of their possession was in and around our penalty area, whereas our possession was in defence and mid-field.

Reading were very predictable in their set piece play. They did it for every corner and every free kick. They sent up Sean Morrison their 6ft 4 ins centre back and they knocked the ball to him every single time. Not only is he tall he is broad and quite a handful.

I wish we did sound like them, i reckon we could get out sang at home by Aldershot!
And as for the 100's leaving in their droves as soon as the 90 was up well that is just
plain embaressing.

Agreed. Leeds were very loud when they got going, but they were quiet for huge swathes of the game. We gave a much better account of ourselves than against Brighton. I can't help thinking thanks to Kenny for responding to an early chant.

Both fans were very loud, but both were very inconsistent.

You joke but we absolutely would. 4-0 down at local rivals Farnborough in Jan 2004 it was still packed right until the end and to a man the Shots noise was raucous and non-stop. If they happened to survive long enough to draw us in the FA cup they would be absolutely up for it, and I doubt we'd get a decent attendance from our side :|

There was a 15 minute period in the second half where the Leeds fans were constantly chanting the same thing over and over again all as one to the effect of water torture. It was just an innane wall of noise, but it actually started getting to me.

Yeah, that's the one. Nothing clever, but like a drill to my skull.

The one thing that most other teams seem to realise, that our fans don't,is that chants keep going longer if you keep a steady pace instead of just getting faster and faster. I get pee'd off when we get a decent chant going and then it just gets faster until it quickly dies.

St. Brynjar 'We all love Leeds'.

I thought it was great.

And it worked and kept going because the Leeds fans have an idea of pacing. Unlike ours, who rush through Blue Army faster and faster until 2 minutes in you literally can't keep it going any longer because no one's got time to breathe.

We're like randy teenagers getting down to it. No control and its over almost before it's started, leaving only a feeling of disappointment and shame.

Perfect metaphor.
