He never really left - he's still based in the Reading office, according to a chap who works with him.

Don't get all the admiration and love for Charles Watts.

Also I think it's quite harsh some of the abuse Jonathan Low seems to get.

However one thing that does really really bug me is that in ALL his articles he refers to us as "Royals". Not "the Royals".

Eg:

"Reading fans walked up Wembley Way in their thousands to watch Royals go head-to-head with Huddersfield Town for a spot in the Premier League ."

"In the 56th minute Royals went a goal ahead"

"Royals won the game in convincing fashion"

It does my nut in

I did think the write up was better than usual and was a bit surprised to see his name at the top

Presuming it's a one off as GR felt the need to get as good a coverage as possible on such a big game

Also presumably PL season is over, so all he's reporting on now for Arsenal is transfer rumours, and the ongoing will he won't he Arsene-saga

Haha true, I should have said "Royals lost the game in convincing fashion, although they did have 99% possession"

I'm pretty fcking bemused and pished off with the self righteous pricks on Twitter who feel it acceptable to be pretty fcking unfair to Jonathan Low.

One dick head tweeted "what does everyone think of @jonathanlow"

With an option included of TWAT

Seriously - grow up you utter cvnts. In what world do you think it's fair or nice or even right to treat someone like this

EDIT: I just want to make it clear, I don't like JL's writing and I think the work he produces and GR put out is rubbish. My issue is with people directly messaging him. It's almost cruel some of the comments I've seen, and it's unnecessary

Agreed. Twitter just attracts w@nkers to be fair

Obviously. Very useful tool for things like football reporting, just a shame people think it's acceptable to make people's life a misery on it. Not like he can switch it off and not look either

What I don't like about JL is he seems like he couldn't give a sh&t about the club and the team.

I know Watts supports Arsenal but in all his coverage of Reading it felt like he cared, seemed like one of us and hence I was more inclined to read what he had to say.

If I were involved with PR at the club I'd be looking to freeze this guy out with all the negative rubbish he posts (e.g. Stam to Leeds)

I really noticed this today, particularly the line "Stam hasn't signed a new contract yet".

Well, yeah it might be true but it neglects to say talks haven't even oxf*rd begun yet and highly insinuates that he's purposely NOT signing one. It's just a poor, headline baiting "journalism". Though I'm not sure why I'm even surprised anymore.

Agree, whilst very against posting personal stuff on the twitter feed, the bizarre emphasis on the negative on that site is very off putting

That Kempson chap is even worse - like find one minor issue, write a column about it and ignore all the good things that are happening

Pretty much every comment today is spot on I.e.

Personal abuse is not acceptable
Low seems to get his stories from Twitter and develops from there with no substance
No real love for the club, rather be watching Pompey and the London Irish than Reading
Clearly has no contacts at the club
Agree RFC cannot be happy with him and feed no snippets

Sorry, I meant agree with people on here saying his journalism isn't that good.

Here is the link to the Tweet and numerous comments, some saying it's a sh*tty thing to do (including JL into the survey which has an option of "HE'S A TWAT"... and others saying stop moaning and licking his arse":

Jesus. Fukking tools. Even more embarrassing when grown men are doing it. These twats wouldn't say the stuff to his face - keyboard warriors.

TBF to JL isn't part of the problem the fact he's supposedly only temporary in the role so is only "filling in" while he does other things?

Have to say though I'm migrating more to the Chronicle site for "news" as at least it's not quite so perforated with the appalling layout, site adverts and continual pop ups that slow everything down and make the actual sentence of actual news that has been written difficult to find.
