OK, I'll admit it, I voted yes. And who do I think should replace SSC? There really is only one man.

There's nothing wrong with SSC that growing a pair once in while wouldn't fix.

Very happy to see 87% in favour of Coppell.

Those voting yes either have the memory of a goldfish or didn't support the Royals under any other manager.

I am disgusted that someone has seen fit to start this poll. And I wish I hadn't voted in it. Even though I voted NO, HELL NO!! We are having a hard time away from home, we will have a hard time in the next 2, 3 or 4 games, and our season will continue. Next season we will be in the Premier League, of that I'm sure, and you may be right that Coppell might quit at the end of the season, but the reason won't be a lack of funds, it will be because of muppets like you slating him after a blip of results.

Yep, an absolute joke, we are doing ok, not amazing like last year but ok, and you won't to sack him, whoever voted yes needs their brains tested.

If Coppell keeps us up, brings in some cracking players this transfer window, and then wants to move on at the end of the season... good timing, we are then well positioned for next season.

If Coppell makes no good signings, form dips in Feb and we end up in a relegation battle, his history of keeping clubs up is not the best (Brighton, Palace). 50/50 for me. A "sacking" is not always a bad thing (and is a harsh word too), so if the board suggested to Coppell that they wish for his successor to be recruited earlier, and his planned break from football to also start earlier, I would see this going through the right amount of PR to make the club and Coppell come out fairly happy and less ruthless.

If Coppell wants to go now for his short break - no good for me. Transfer window is not long enough for us to be able to recruit a top quality manager (more knee-jerk), and get in the right players in time.

There are also too many of our first-team players suggesting in the press that they would be interested in moves away. Even at the worst of times in recent (post Burns) years, we aim to keep players' thoughts to themselves. Who is managing this situation? And if no-one, why not? Do the players know that SSC is offski at the end of the season, and think this is their best time to move on....???

Doyle - would relish a big club (i.e. top 4 but undoubtedly a little lower too)
Lita - not playing well, gifted but when he feels like it, clearly wants a move
Kitson - no evidence to suggest he would want to leave, apart from the interview where he'd love to play for Spurs
Shorey - made noises about a new contract but unlikely to want to stay
Hunt - didn't want to rule out a move to even a club like Sunderland (what does *that* say?!)

Freedom of speech.

It raises the important question of whether we're better off sticking with Coppell or sacking him and looking elsewhere...... reading this thread and viewing the poll suggests the vast majority of fans are backing the manager.

I'll say this about Coppell, he does learn from his mistakes in the transfer market.

Who would you repace Coppell with then Friday's Child , IF we do get relegated  Coppell would be the best choice to make a quick return to the Prem (you just have to look at Newcastle to see what the manager merry-go-round could do to a club)
fwiw I dont think we will go down , we will stay up by the skin of our teeth and should learn lessons from this season. :D

This is an Independant fanzine, I haven't voted because it's a ridulous thread but at least it gives fans the chance to rally to Coppell's side.

Let's wait and see what the transfer window brings us. Probably nothing better than what we have at the minute.
But I can only assume, that the YES Brigade, have only arrived with the Mad Stad, or quite possibly, Premiership.
Leave the guy alone, otherwise we will loose him, and that is something we don't need.
