What I find most bizarre is that if you read some of the posts, our home support is appalling yet our away good. Which runs counter to the confidence the players actually show.

I think a bit of it boils down to how we play and then also how the opposition play. You tend to be more cautious away so we find the gaps in teams and poke them. Hard. With sticks. When we go away, we don't have the presence in midfield (although Bryn might be an answer there) to stop more adventurous teams from getting onto our defence. Forest played 5 in midfield but rarely supported Earnshaw. If a team comes to us and has a real go, that would be a big test of the team.

It is moderately worrying that over a year on and that midfield slot vacated by the (apparently useless) Sidwell has not been appropriately covered.

Karacan is an extremely promising young lad learning his trade in the first team of a reasonably successful championship side this year, he will have quiet games and will get overrun in some, Tuesday might show that, but he has enormous potential and has done remarkably well in the games he has played this year.

Sorry, I'm just really really tired of hearing how we haven't replaced Sidwell. I'm enjoying the fact that we have a home-grown talent showing (what appear to be) Sidwell-like attributes in midfield and would rather, as is my wont, be optimistic about that than hark back to days gone by. He, like everyone else, needs to produce the goods away from home this season, but as he seems to be improving every game at home, there is every reason to think that day is fast approaching.

He tamed the Lions (who were distinctly underwhelmed by his arrival on loan but ended up saying he was far too good for them) so I think he can manage wolves okay.

Because, as yet, we haven't. We have one young player who looks like he possibly could do it but is an unknown distance off that yet.

And the reason why it keeps coming up again is because it doesn't take much to notice that if we can bring in or bring through a player of that style/quality, the side will greatly improved.

As long as we are compelled to play 50% of our matches away from home, we do.

To suggest we don't miss Sidwell or Kitson on the strength of a comfrtable win at home to dross is laughable.

Another good home performance today. We did the job. Wasn't happy at the start of the game though to see Pearce wasn't playing.
