But with respect that is just pure speculation on your part as is the list of reasons quoted elsewhere why the club has not been sold. Nobody has a shred of proof that this is true.

I have never said that it was fact. The only difference is that I don't just accept whatever SJM says as being gospel - that's not to say I don't appreciate his input over the years or to say that he is a downright liar and ought to be chased out of Reading - I just don't base my opinions solely on what he says.

A lot of people base what they say on here entirely upon what SJM has said as if that makes it fact...

The Rouge Am I the only one who thinks that Madejski just wants a high figure for the club - hence there has been no interest. ?

There was zero interest in Palace either and they were basically available to anybody who could prove they had funds to keep the club running.

Man Friday
Rev Algenon Stickleback H Does anyone have the number for the Guinness Book of Records? If there's a record for the world's largest collection of shit, the team board must have broken it in the last couple of days.

...and so will the football team having sold its best players just to address some imaginary deficit.

Being reinvested, a mighty £50,000 on a 33 year old left back.

All we need do now is tempt Dean Windass out of retirement and it's job done. maybe offer anyone who bought a Sigurdsson shirt one free rumblestik if they buy a Windass shirt, as a gesture of good will.

The only slight sense in signing him is his dead ball. Gylfi took all of our corners/ free kicks and pens. Surely his overall game is not good enough now though, and Howard can at least take corners and free kicks. Just don't let Long or Church near any pens, they're both gash at them!

You can be very selective with your reading sometimes... I've said countless times I don't blame him for not wanting to put any more money into the club. That said, he is the owner, he is the man who either has or hasn't got the money. If you think he has none then fine - there's nothing for you to moan about. But if you think what I think which is that he is exaggerating how little ability to put money in he actually has - then I think there's something to moan about.

I hope we do spend a fair amount of the Sig's fee on building the squad - I reckon we will spend very little - in fact so little that it will probably be an amount that he could have subsidised himself a month ago instead of scraping around on deadline day.

Ok fair enough. I would, but that's because if I had the money I'd want to get the team as high up the league as I could possibly afford even if it meant my other ventures suffered because of my crusade. Pretty dumb really I admit, but if I bought a football club I wouldn't see it as an investment in the first place so I'd know that I was going to be throwing my money away anyway...

So what you're saying is if you would do something IF you were in someone else's position but that someone wouldn't there's no point in arguing about whether they ought to or not. My god, it's a revelation. Close the forum.

To be honest that'll do me... I suspect some people will be hoping for more signings though.

Fordham just confirmed the whole thing! Season long loan, then he'll be out if contract I think!

Could we just bring him on to take the dead balls? Like they do in American Football?

Gylfi or Zurab - But not both???

by buzzbee » 31 Aug 2010 17:15

What it says on the tin really.

Losing Gylfi was a huge blow. Getting Zurab back is a big plus, but does it outweigh the loss?

Personally, I would prefer to have Gylfi here, because we don’t have much in the way of goals in the team, so his contribution in that department will be key. Zurab will be an upgrade on Pearce, but I don’t think the difference between them is as big as the offensive gap left by Gylfi.

Thoughts?

How do you expect us to compare a defender to a midfielder?
