With that defence just named, he'll probably last until about 3.15pm

So we're a 1/4 of the season gone and we have 5 points. I can't see a way back. 40 more points in us?

If we want to stand any chance of staying up then we need to act now. Not December or January, now!

If on the other hand we're happy to stick by Brian and go back down, then obviously you stick with him and take this season up the arse.

I'd rather we make a change and try and stay up though. The club playing at the highest level means more to me than any manager or player!

Especially when you consider the much higher TV money for next season - I'd have thought staying up was imperative for us really.

And I expect AZ thinks the same, and why BM is not as safe as many of the RTG's seem to think he is.

We don't need 45 points to survive. No one has needed 45 points to survive in the last 10 years. 30 more points might just see us stay up.

I know we are, just pointing out we don't need 45 in the slightest.

Pretty clear from that performance that he hasn't lost the dressing room. Keep the faith.

If Anton was planning to invest 15-20M into the playing side in January- and buff the salary bill accordingly- you could see slightly more reason in firing our 2nd most successful manager of all time.

Still a pretty terrible idea but that's modern football.

Yet there is no indication that this investment is likely, which would see another manager having to come in and deliver with the same (now demoralized) squad. A squad which is the least valuable in the league and probably on one of the lowest total wages.

So;

Which of the managers we are likely to attract could do better?
Given the value of our squad and our relative wage bill why Should Brian be doing any better?
If we are relegated which manager is better qualified to do well in the championship?

Yeah you're right Biscuitman. Which is why it's annoying me that they're not going to up their offer to Pearce - now he might be asking for something close to Pog's wages and that would be ridiculous, but as I've said, if we're going to have to spend in January in any case, why not use some of that money to keep Pearce happy and get him playing in the team again? Wouldn't need to look for another CH then for a start.

The problem is that we have been a 2nd tier Arsenal for many years (stick with me on this one), we've over achieved while trying to run the club on a financially sustainable basis. This raises expectations which the financial ability of the business cannot sustain when competing against clubs doping on debt or with exponentially more indulgent sugar daddies.

Despite the take-over it seems that this unlikely to change with the clubs most influential officers staying in place and SJM's club model prevailing. Let's see if this changes in January but- as all the money really comes from Z senior- I doubt Anton's indulgence will be showered with further cash.

So we will have budgeted this year on the prudent assumption that we will be relegated, just staying up will be massive achievement and the only sane plan is accept this possibility while leaving the club in the best position to, 'bounce back' ( (C) SSN) in the following seasons if the worst does happen.

West Ham and Southampton have spent more, but they are both bigger clubs and- in the case of West Ham- are literally banking on the Olympic stadium bailing them out by becoming the sort of O2 of football for casual fans.

Unfortunately it will be widely reported that today will go down as one of the saddest days of biscuit fans...

...oh yes. The Balding Guy V2 managed to get a draw which just extends his stay of RFC management. Truth is, it's time for him to go, he is nooooot up to it...

...we hear songs of love and joy about mid-week drinks saying all is well - I had like you all, hoped it was lie but it's probably true and we'll be left with a man who is probably the best Championship manager we have ever had ( better then Balding Guy V1 as Balding Guy V2 had so little but achieved so much ) wrecking what slim chance we have to stay up.

Noooooo. He should step aside before anybody who does have the skills to motivate the team ( and play people that would make a difference ).

They expect us to pay for season tickets before the season is even over to keep our seats, but why should we be loyal when all they do is throw it all away ?

I am expecting that we will all get a card from RFC in January thanking us for loyal support at Legoland each week along with a letter explaining that our season tickets go back on general sale on the 15th January 2013 so we must just in and renew now to avoid disappointment...

...it is time for AZ to make a difference and show us why he took over - otherwise - come out with a statement and say we're stuck with the manager we have and oh by the way, we have nooooooooooooooooooooooooo Premiership ambitions whatsover as we reward failure by more games in change which causes us to cut the cloth in forthcoming months.

Do You See ?
