No Fixed Abode I get that. However, £3m and you're taking goals out of the side. It's reduced your chances of promotion even more now. Speculating on a new contract for Blackman is minimal outlay if you manage to get promotion.

I suppose it's good business as the club fooked up and didn't offer him a new deal sooner though.

Even for you that's some pretty weak sh*t Kes.

Blackman had scored 2 goals in 14 games. .

But he's scored 13 goals for you this season.....8 more than anyone else.

Weak shit is using stats like 2 goals in 14 games. It's what he does over the course of the season that matters..

I must say I agree with this point. All strikers have droughts. 2 goals in 14 is clutching at straws.

It's only good business if we reinvest the money strengthening our weak rb and gk positions and getting a goalscorer from league 1. If results improve then il see it as a good deal for us.

If we do what Reading always do (pocket the cash and say they tried but couldn't get any deals sorted) then it's bad business in my opinion.

Liburd doesn't look ready to be in the first team. Samuel may do but if Sa or Vydra gets injured then we are light on strikers.

What will he do for his goal celebrations when he scores?

The quiet non-celebration in respect for his old club

Or

The run over to the Reading fans giving them the Mr Angry gif actions?

paultheroyal Calling Bollox to all that and to be fair done the Antonio debate to death and no one has changed my mind.

A number of us saw quality in him. Never giving the chance to shine other than the odd cameos whilst other bang average players got their chance.

Sell him for peanuts whilst in meantime he racks up £10 million + in transfer fees.

Find evidence that you backed Antonio before he left and you have some credibility, otherwise you are just chatting 'bollox'

Blackman is hot in the market right now and £3m in peanuts today.

For a striker with 1 good run of form, and 6 months left on his contract?
I suppose it's good business as the club fooked up and didn't offer him a new deal sooner though.

You mean we should have offered him a new deal when he was shit?

You sound bitter he's gone. "Ah he was shit any way".

Hes been great this season, but tbf if u wanted a new contract for him earlier, then it would have been when he was playing shit.
Which would have been weird

Lost his man at Wolves.

Need strikers that contribute all round the pitch.

We need strikers who contribute in front of goal as well though. Preferably those who contribute all round the pitch wouldn't softly give the ball away necessitating their need to contribute in our half.

Blackman didn't have a great game tonight. Being totally harsh it was his lack of defensive abilities that allowed Vydra to steal the ball ahead of HRK's cross for William's goal.

We also need strikers who contribute in front of goal as well as all over the pitch. When a striker has softly given away the ball necessitating the need for them to contribute in our own half then that is not ideal.

FAO Kes:

With Blackman:
Reading FC 0 - 1 Derby County

Without Blackman

Derby County 1 - 1 Reading FC

1 point better off without him. 8)

LWJ FAO Kes:

With Blackman but without the idiot who got sent off for headbutting their player when we were dominating the game:
Reading FC 0 - 1 Derby County

Without Blackman

Derby County 1 - 1 Reading FC

1 point better off without him. 8)

Corrected.

Nah, what is important is how the team performs. The stats either way are irrelevant because they don't mean anything in terms of how he'd have done between now and May.

For my money I reckon we'll do better without him than we have done with him and he certainly wasn't worth keeping hold of until the summer and losing out on a few million quid for the pleasure.

By all accounts you played well last night. Ady and Mick Gooding said you would have won that if you had a goalscorer in the team. Shame you've just sold your top scorer to Derby.
