Do you know what, we'd have loved to have gone to the Everton game - but we knew we'd have to take at least half a day off to enable us to get up there, and we'd either be back really late if driving, or probs no trains to get us back, so may have had to stay up there - either way we'd be knackered in work this morning or in late - and when it's your own business, time is money. I suspect a lot of people were in a similar situation. Had we been playing Chelsea, with it being closer, things would have been different. I suspect, if City v Villa tonight ends in a draw, our next round will again be midweek, and if it's away to City some of us could have the same problem.

So, well done if you could take time off work, get there, get back and it doesn't impinge on your work, or your kids schooling or whatever - but for some people it did, so please bear that in mind before you slag everyone off as "not proper supporters".

Why come on and say that. Your the pathetic one for posting this. 1,000 Reading fans made more noise than 28,000 home fans last night. Small time and in the quarters of the FA Cup once again. Love it.

RL - i totally appreciate those comments. Far more constructive than the small town mentality post though i agree with the small club mentality and hope it remains so. Far be it that we as supporters, expect another club to roll over and be as anonymous as our players are to the likes of Keegan.
For those who made it last night it was a fantastic occasion, showed dedication (or madness) if working the next day. Each supporter has to make a judgement call on their personal circumstances. Tired, feeling proud and with an extra spring in my step. Fcuk me i even smiled today.

I was umming and aahing about going yesterday and didn't go in the end, for many of the reasons in RL's reply

Just wished I hadn't been so sensible now and had just put up with lousy journey and feeling crap today.

On the plus side I have been to every game this year apart from Stevenage and Millwall and I haven't seen us win since Doncaster so perhaps it was just as well I didn't go

my lad was in tears when word went round the ground that Everton had won the penalty shootout. Chap next to us assumed he was a Chelsea fan but he was on a promise to do Stamford Bridge had they got through. He knew Liverpool wasn't really on on a school night.

He's on a promise to visit Eastlands or Villa Park cos Sunday isn't really an issue.

Might a replay really mean a midweek match though (senses trouble at home)? I read that they would replay on Monday 7th so the QF would be unaffected.

I went and was at work for half 7, but I only had to drive to Derby (via Chesterfield) - back by 1am
So tired today, but I think I would have felt a lot worse had we lost!
