Like all of our managers (and those elsewhere) he was also responsible for bringing in some pretty expensive shyte that didn't work out and where he didn't get a reportedly high fee on their disposal.

Not sure whether I am sad to see him go or not because currently it's pretty impossible to determine who played what part in our current decline.

Hammond play no part in decline. He only be good for reading FC.
Decline start when Russian owner sack McDermott.

Totally rumbled. It all makes sense now.

It's actually the other way around. My impression of Dave was so good that you are all convinced that I'm Dave. You have all been rumbled.
I'm not Dave. But, if you want to believe that I am, it's up to you. Two people definitely know that I am not Dave. One is me and one is Dave. If the rest of you want to think otherwise, that's up to you. I am no better informed about who is Dave than the rest of you.

Hammond is my fourth-favourite RFC Nicky behind Forster, Shorey and Platneaur.

Come on Dave, you've got a friend in the ticket office, you must know who Nick Platneaur is.

Just googled him. He was on loan with us in 1986. That was around the time I started going to games regularly. He made 7 appearances for us. I don't remember him at all.

I'm quite impressed at Tony Pulis' powers of forgiveness.

He was none too pleased when Hammond flogged him a Broken Sonko and a Bolshy Kitson for nigh on 10m combined a few years back.

:D :D That's probably why he wants him. He needs to offload Brunt and a few others this summer. Hammond could generate him a £20million transfer warchest.

Having raised nearly £10 mil through sales this season ( Hector, Blackman, Sa ) on their instructions, my understanding is that not one of the owners nor the omnipresent Paroj made any contact with NH during the leaving process unlike SJM.

Absolutely NO CLASS !!

A nice leaving comment from Hammond in an open letter. I for one think he probably did an excellent job and has been as much a part of the clubs success as anyone over his years or service.

I think we'll certainly miss his work behind the scenes, despite what some might think.

Class letter from a class bloke. Cheers Nicky, and thanks for all your hard work behind the scenes. All the best for the future. In fact, you probably made one of the best saves that I've ever seen. Can't remember who we were playing, at Elm Park, but me and my brother were stood in the Southbank when the shot came in. We were right behind it and it looked a goal every day of the week. Until you somehow managed to go up to your right, and tip it up and around for a corner. We stood there gobsmacked and, to this day, still talk about that 'save'.

I remember that, wasn't it v Cardiff in that cup replay? Thought then it's the sort of save that SKY pundits would wet themselves over continuously and rave about it being as good as that Banks' save if they realised football exists outside of the big four/five/six clubs.

And that's another thing with the media, you get goal of the season year in and year out but never a save of the season competition which is just as worthwhile.
