Do you think Adam can perform well enough to keep Hahnemann out of the team once he is fit?

I know stats can prove just about anything, but his goals per game ratio is better than a couple of our strikers

rhroyal 3 league games, 1 conceded, 1 goal. So far that's far better than Marcus' record. He deserves to keep the shirt, he made some crucial saves, even to keep it at 1-0 in injury time.

That would be 2 conceded.

And, yes, the question, "Is he good enough" begs the followup question, "As a goalkeeper or as a striker?"

There is no doubt he has been very impressive in his three games so far, and using SSC's own words the owner of the shirt keeps it if they do well !! will be interested to read the "back from the game" threads later according to the bit part commentry that I jeard he was pretty impressive, so in answer to the question yep probably more than good enough.

Looked much better today

Claimed a number of crosses and commanded his area more. He's certainly improving and on todays performance I'd happily admit to being wrong about him being good enough

Cardiff didn't create that many clear cut chances though, but again he did all he had to do

I like him, thought he did well, although was harassed into kicking badly.

Brilliant save today from that header.

Almost took Harpers head off with one of his kicks too. What a double whammy it wouldve been... :?

Technically he's more than good enough, I've always played in goal and he takes the ball superbly, his positional play is good and his distribution is excellent. Add to that he's intelligent, big enough to dominate and clearly confident in his ability and I can't see Hahnemann getting back in the team.

Well, luckily as Coppell is our manager and not you, I see Hahnemann returning when fully fit. Fed is a more than able understudy but still no more than that at the moment.

I suspect the early GBH committed on him by the thug Chopra didn't help his kicking either!

Hoop Blah He's not up to it.

Concedes far too many goals that a keeper at this level should prevent.

Glad to say that so far he's proving me wrong.

It's interesting that he's not had that much to save really though, but credit where it's due that is partly down to the keeper in the way they marshall the defence infront of them and command their area. After a bit of a suspect time on crosses against Norwich (I think it was anyway) he's looked much better in that department and he's swept up pretty well behind the back four too.

Thought he had his best game yesterday, didn't have much to do in terms of saves but he was far more assertive and confident when coming for crosses, handling impeccable and his kicking is a serious weapon. I too didn't think h'd be up to that much certainly no more than a stop gap but he's improving with every game at the minute. Good stuff.

He's still not had a lot to do but he's looking better with every game.

I always felt he conceeded too many 'saveable' goals, maybe down to suspect positioning, but he's looking the part so far and although I'm not about to eat humble pie I might just start a bit of baking!

The defence look very confident playing in front of him and that is a key factor for me. Sometimes when Hahneman is keeping goal the defence look a bit unsure when crosses are coming in to the 6 yard box but I have seen no evidence of that with Federici.

Agreed.

It can't be a conicidence that we've given away so few chances since he came into the side. Credit also to the much maligned Duberry and Ingimarsson for their part in this sound little run.

In a word....YES

His distribution is absolutely quality!!! That is a very important factor and it will help us with counter attacks!! Much better than USA, Fed pretty much nails every kick he makes directly to his intended target!!

Had serious doubts about fed, mainly on positioning. But with a run of games he has quicky put that to bed.in the last few games he has been dominant in the air,and still great with shots and kicking.
If marcus was 30 id be tempted to put him in, but in the knowledge that he hasnt much time left with us, its now more important to get fed some 1st team experience, the only thing he currently lacks. He will only continue to improve in my opinion.

His distribution and handling are top notch. I get a bit nervy when Marcus comes for crosses, but Fed seems so comfortable when he makes a catch, even under pressure. Tbf, his shot stopping hasn't really been tested aside from a faily decent stop from Phillips in the b'ham game, didn't see the s'hampton and Cardiff away games but can't really think of any other examples.
