I suspect this will have been one of the tougher games we'll face this season - but even so, it's already shown up our inadequacies. I'll also be interested in what Brendan has to say...

I'm positive on what will happen during the season, and I'm an optimist. However I do think we'll lose today. It will be a solid enough performance with us having some good chances and spurning them. We'll concede with 15 minutes to go however and despite a top performance we will end up with nothing. Reading fans will be left disappointed, but optimistic after the game, and the national press will forget we were even playing. Newcastle will get above their station but go on a 5 game winless run.

I would go as far as saying that we have a far stronger squad than them as things stand. Alan Smith/Joey Barton in midfield is pretty good for this league but they look weak at the back.
