Royal With Cheese Remember the "Top of the League" chant to the Big Breakfast's "Egg on your Face" tune?

Top of the league, top of the league
Top of the league, top of the league
Top of the league, top of the league
Who d'you think it is, US!

We've got a corner
We've got a corner

That reminds me of another "We never score from corners"

Bradford clap clap clap...Bradford clap clap clap...Bradford...substitute clapping with 'comic' attempts x3 to beat out flames.

I remeber Reading playing Brum at Elm Park when Karen Brady was Chairman, Paul Peschisolido (her husband) played for them and Barry Fry was manager...

Chant 1
Karen Brady, is a slapper, is slapper

Chant 2
Your wife slept with Barry Fry
Your wife slept with Barry Fry

Chant 3
Your wife slept with all of us
Your wife slept with all of us

Happy days

Around the same time (Mid to late seventys)

A touch off-topic, but my favourite moment of recent times as a reading fan was Everton away when we drew 1-1 and Sylvester Stallone was there. The owner of the company I worked for at the time was a huge Evertonian and had seats in the Directors area. We were sat two seats behind the Hollywood Dwarf. When we went 1-0 up all I could hear was "Rocky! What's the score! Rocky! Rocky! What's the score!!!!"! Amazing!!!!

I sat there listening to scousers abusing him for 90 minutes, but the funniest moment was when they equalised he didn't realise what had happened and had to be told to cheer!

Oooh-Ingimarsson
He won't put a foot wrong
We've got a great right back and Marcus Hahnemann
Shorey is sure
Sonko is strong
We've got a great right back and Marcus Hahnemann

Do you remember the day (that sunny day)
When we first signed Bikey?
It put a great big smile on Coppell's face
And if he gets booked (if he gets booked)
For the silly things he does
Then Duberry can take his place

The one that always makes me smile - and brings out non-plussed looks of: "oi, you must be barking" is when I start the: "You're so quiet you sound like Alerdersh*t" at random grounds around the world. I enjoy it, anyway.

"Harry Robert's is our friend..." one of my firts recollections of the SB.

"I used to work in Newbury...." don't think it has even been mentioned yet.

And the Reading song that hardly ever gets a full airing these days:

"In Reading's fair city
Where the gals are all slappers
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone
She wheeled her wheel barra
Through streets BROAD and narra
singing
I should be so lucky, lucky, lucky
I should be soooooo lucky in love"

Spent about 3 days trying to remember the chant we had away at Bristol Rovers (Twerton Bath era, 1990?) It got some singing, as we had a couple of replays and a league game around the same time..I think Martyn made one of the best saves in front of the away terrace I ever remember from Keith Knight??

Or am I getting old.....
