I'm a little perplexed that Fed has managed to play himself out of the side as I genuinely, genuinely thought he'd be the one player who'd be fine in the Premiership.

It's one of those things; utterly random 'could have happened to anybody' moments occuring the minute he reaches 'the big screen', kickstarting a period of doubt which spiralled.

It's tough for keepers to regain their confidence with any haste as unlike out-field players, they can't warm into a game in a reduced role. They don't have the ball for ages and then it's instant game changing decision making.

He'll be fine in time.

Alternatively, having finally reached the Premier League that he'd strived for so long, something in his subconscious or inner-psyche "relaxed" a bit.

Alexander Litvinenko No, it's because this is an internet message board, and so reasoned argument and moderate viewpoints are verboten. Everything is exaggerated and taken to extremes because if it's not no-one will react.

It's more the case of who puts the effort into going online and writing up an opinion that isn't ardent?

Quick, quick, I must fire up the laptop and log into the football forums to tell everyone how uninterested in football I am!

Opinion is going to be fanatical on a fan forum.

Stuboo Hahahaha. Nice one Big Foot. I'm seriously struggling to think of a single redeeming feature of Warnock though.

Frequently loses to Reading. Acts as a pantomime villain for Reading fans to create a good atmosphere in games involving him.

Sends out his teams to kick lumps out of players. Broke Karacan's ankle. I'd rather football was without him, but you're entitled to think the opposite.

You asked for redeeming features, nothing else. I didn't say I liked him.

And if you try to put a more balanced middleground view out there, you get strawmanned from both opposing sides and also accused of sitting on the fence. Plus HNA is to blow off steam and its hard to do that whilst being perfectly rational and reasonable.

What's the comparison of goals conceded this year Feds vs McCarthy?

Thought McCarthy could of done better with 2 of them goals today.

Feds for Tuesday please.

First one the keeper had no chance. Second the same from a bullet header at an acute angle. Third was quality in any game. Feds would have done no better.

McCarthy went walkabout for corner. If he read flight and stayed in starting position ball be down his throat.

Federici - dropped two (minimum) absolute clangers in three games. McCarthy - could perhaps of done better on some goals.

No brainer. McCarthy has the shirt.

Fed - 3 games 8 goals, at least two his fault. 2.6 goals a game
McCarthy - 5 games 10 goals, none clearly his fault. 2 goals a game.

McCarthy statistically better as well as obviously.

Look, I think McCarthy's been good. I just think he could marshal the defence better. For this reason I would like to see Federici back with his experience and ability to organise his defenders better.

A decent game Tuesday and Feds will be back, the same goes for Pearce. Why not I say, Brian doesn't know his best team yet and while we remain winless he will keep searching

I'm generally in the Feds camp, but McCarthy was magnificent against Swansea, and his distribution is improving every game. I do get the feeling that Feds may have managed to keep one of them out today, but McCarthy has done enough to keep the shirt for now.

Why are so many pro Federici, until McCarthy makes 4 clangers that cost us 4+ points McCarthy should remain in the team. The fact this is even in debate if simply ludicrous

At least he would've tried to save them.

It's a possibility, although I'd still stick with McCarthy. Someone certainly needs to organise the shambles that we call a defence.
