Elmer Park First Berkshire Club exits the FA Cup with Ascot United losing 2-1 to a last minute winner by Combined Counties Wembley. You probably all know but the game was the first to be streamed live on Facebook. I am not a faceybooky sort of person but am told it was a decent game considering the levels the two teams play at.

I went along tonight - was a good evening - so well done to Ascot - crowd announced as 1141 but I think there were at least another couple of hundred kids not counted in this.
Free burgers for every paying entry - bit awkward if you had kids in tow, as they weren't geared up to sell additional one's - my daughter nabbed mine and enjoyed it. :)

Shame about the result but Wembley were sharper and faster - winner was scored on 90' so maybe a bit harsh on AUFC.

...Oh and re Platypuss & Dover @ Truro - the players are flying down and the supporters coach is leaving at 0500h ! :o

The gate was 1149 and I know because I had 1150 in the sweepstake.

..unlucky! (or were you closest?) - sorry senior-hearing moment for me.

Obviously didn't do a head-count but my guesstimate put the crowd nearer 1500 - simply cos I didn't think they were 'ticking' kids on the tally-sheet at the gate? Unless of course that was purely a count for free-burger tickets - wish I'd known it was one per paying spectator and they weren't able to sell extras - I'd have tried to scrounge another voucher! Lucky for me my youngest decided he was too tired to come too - would have presented me with a bit of a challenge. :? My daugher ate mine and expressed approval - I had to go and queue up for a Hot Dog - though needed to buy Chips too anyway.

Good evening all round for AUFC shame about the result - after an encouraging first 20', you looked a bit 'off' up front last night and could have been a bigger defeat but for your keeper.

Back to league business now - tough trip to Wilks Pk on Tuesday - might consider going - unless of course Flackwell need a replay vs the other AUFC after this PM? Just spotted they would have been your opponents in the next round.

There's always the Vase next month - not sure how strong Buck.Town are - don't watch much UCL - I know they have ground problems - nearly folded - and are having to share over @ Winslow I think - should you need a replay?

That's insane for STEP2!

I follow Truro a bit as the missus is from there - as a result I've been to Treyew Rd a fair few times as it's about 10 minutes walk from the in-laws.

Will probably try to pick up their local fixtures too if possible - Farnboro, Maiders and maybe 'Stoke.

It'll be a rare opportunity for Dover fans to be on the receiving end of a "You dirty northern bastards" chant.

Cheers for the dates - I can certainly see us going to all, although Maiders on a school night might be tricky.

Well, if there's one place Maidenhead want to go after 2 x 4-0 defeats on the trot, it's their perennial happy hunting ground, Hayes Lane.

Bromley 0-1 Maidenhead Utd

There's an article in the NLP today about a Reading Town player who's been sued for £100k. Best check you're insured if you are still playing

Indeed, Michael Buck was sued by Flackwell Heath player Gavin Mernagh for a bone breaking challenge last year. Luckily for Buck, he still lives with his parents and their home insurance included liability cover that paid up.

as an aside

Nicky Forster scores a brace for Sussex County team Lingfield in their 4-0 FA Cup win against Hailsham Town

..done the w/e full NL round up but its in a file on the other PC and I can't be arsed to go and login from the Study - so will do that later. 8)

Went up to Leighton Buzzard this PM for The Ducks vs The Robins in the FA Cup.

Pretty poor game: Aylesbury Utd won- 4-0 @ a canter (do Ducks canter? :? ) - hat-trick for their giant CB (Mullholland) two free headers from corners and they let him take a pen for the third.
Ducks fans fairly graceless in victory - taking the p!ss from a very early stage - not what you'd normally see/hear at NL down at this level - doubt if they are v.popular in the SSML. I s'pose with their recent plummets down the Pyramid they have to milk it a bit when they can?
Bracknell were absolutely terrible - not sure if this was their strongest line-up but they will suffer badly in the Hellenic Prem if they carry on in such a clueless manner. KP was OK but then again he had to be.

Still, got the youngest out in the fresh air and off the Playstation.

Plenty of good 'local' NL action this midweek

Tonight sees FA Cup Replay at Stubbs Lane/New Farm Hill or whatever they re-brand it as now:

Binfield v RTFC - had been a fairly even contest at Scours on Sat apparently with 'Moles' finishing the stronger. No team news as to whether the home side will have either Davies available up front?

Tuesday nights' matches include :

Ashford Town (Mx) v Chertsey Town
Badshot Lea v Cobham Cup replay
Bracknell Town v Abingdon Town
Chalfont St. Peter v Biggleswade Town
Egham Town v Wembley
Farnham Town v Camberley Town
Flackwell Heath v Ascot United
Fleet Town v Uxbridge
Henley Town v Thame United
Holmer Green v Oxhey Jets
Holyport v Kidlington
Hungerford Town v Bishops Cleeve
Maidenhead Utd v Thurrock
Marlow v Bedfont Town
Newbury v Highmoor Ibis
Slough Town v Burnham
Wantage Town v Wokingham & Emmbrook

Warfield Royal FA Cup: Binfield 3 – 0 Reading Town

I was there - attendance given as 118 - would have put it as a bit more - and that's not many for a Moles MNF gate? RTFC Barmy Army there in force and in good voice at times - well 5 of them I think.

RTFC had a lot of possession and a fair bit of menace without an end product - as they say - but were continually cut to ribbons by Moles pace and movement up front and down both flanks. Carl/Ian Davies looked back to full fitness and Withers had a brilliant game for his 300; no Suarez though.

Hancock had a towering game at the back against his old club and Binfield could easily have doubled their score.
Thought Lewis looked disturbingly muted up front now he's back at RTFC - appeared to have lost a lot of weight and along with it, his trademark power on the ball - got brushed off continually by the Moles back four. Big Bad Marcus came on 2nd half but made little impact such was Hancock's dominance in the air.

Petulant straight Red for the RTFC No 11 @ 3-0 down - lashed out right under the Refs nose!

Other scores tonight: Basingstoke, Farnboro and Diddy all got draws away at Boreham Wood, Chelmsford and Gosport respectively - though Didcot conceded on 94'. :|

Still undecided about tomorrow's destination - Holyport v Kidlington looks tasty but there's no bar readily available at Summerleaze. Don't fancy going too far, so may opt for one @ Maidenhead, Henley or Flackwell.
