Anyone else think it's too close to call!!!

by Svlad Cjelli » 25 May 2011 07:55

One single game, so many factors that could influence the result (one piece of brilliance, one stupid blunder, one bad decision from the ref....), teams that are so close together in league performances......

I can't predict which way it'll go.

It is too close to call. Especially in a one off game. I relate it to the Champions League final. If Man Utd had played Barca on the semi (i.e. over two legs) I don't think they would stand a chance but in the final its a one off game and you never know whats going to happen! Same with us, I don't think we would've beaten Swansea over two legs because their home form is excellent but in a one off game at a neutral venue anything can happen!

Too close to call in respect of;

My head says - Swansea win
My heart says - Reading win

I felt exactly the same at Cardiff!

My heart tells me that Reading aren't the same team that played Swansea in the two narrow defeats earlier this season. Since then we've hit an incredible run of form and the team has come on leaps and bounds (especially with Leigertwood in the middle!).

My head reminds me however that Swansea haven't been standing still and that their performances of late have been very inspiring!

This game will not be one for the neutrals or the TV cameras, but I'm sure it will be a roller-coaster ride for all involved!

Lets hope for a Reading 1-0, and I don't care what luck it takes to get there, even if it ends up going in off of Noel Hunts arse!

The bookies here aren't willing to call it either way...

Reading $2.55
Draw $3.30
Swansea $2.55

If you expect the unexpected surely it becomes expected?!

Just a thought...

The Bookies (Paddy Power and William Hill at least) cannot separate then teams and give the same odds for a Reading win as they do a Swansea win.

we've proven that we are very hard to beat, can see a 1-0 scoreline either way - hopefully to us!

Especially in games like this which are very tight, one bad decision from the ref will totally destroy the game.

Video evidence in football for big decisions (red cards, penalties etc) is long overdue.

Neanderthals and dinosaurs will disagree.

Red cards and penalties are given for decisions which are subjective - i.e. the referee has to judge things like intent as well as contact. Such things are almost never easier to judge by video, no matter how many people you have judging them.

Technology for line decisions which are a clear matter of fact - Yes.

Replays or anything that stops/takes the game backwards,or technology for subjective decisions : No.

Not necessarily. The unexpected that I am expecting may not happen and something else completely unexpected may happen instead.

I was thinking along the lines of a surprising 5-0 win to the Royals similar to Stoke's unexpected thumping of Bolton in the cup semi-final. But since I am now expecting that, I'm sure something else that I am not expecting will be happening instead. I think something surprising will happen.

I hope it's a nice surprise.

At the end of the day they have a squad of very good players and we have a squad of very good players, it's a question of which squad of players performs better on the day or gets that little bit of luck.

As fans we all have to be positive as we can about it, urge every player on, will/concentrate/urge them to make the right move, the right run and the right pass at the right time. Even if you only think this during the game it will help

Never done it before, but thinking of putting £100 on Swansea to win as a saver.

We win - don't care.
Lose - at least the day was paid for.
