Fixtures 2013-14 - First Game

by The Prisoner » 18 Jun 2013 11:20

Announced tomorrow. Who will it be against?

A test tube of Jimmy Kebe's sweat to the winner. Cures the clap & flatulence.

My money is on Barnsley at home.

Thanks for posting a totally different thread from another part of the forum. For those incapable of reading the OP this is simply a touch of fun to brighten up a dull off-season Tuesday asking who our first game will be against. For the avoidance of doubt this does not relate the second game, when the Reading Festival is, the 24th game, Christmas and Easter fixtures or how much travel on STAR will cost. Thanks x

I'm not trying to come across as a complete ar5e here, but the other thread does actually include predictions on who people reckon we will get on the opening day.

If it helps, my thought, as on the other thread, is Burnley (h)

Millwall (H)

No idea why, just a feeling. A lot of repair work to be done before the next game once the away fans tear up seats and destroy the goal posts after the game.

Forest away is my guess. 4-0 win to the royals (Drenthe, Hopper, Gylfi x2)

McCarthy will kick the ball straight into Dexter Blackstock but it will trickle wide because McCarthy isnt a complete spastic.

Hull (A)
Brentford (H)
Berwick (A) in the Coca Cola Cup.

The signings of Drenthe and Gylfi I can get behind, but Dennis Hopper has done nothing of note since Easy Rider.

He'll be a passenger.

We don't have a very good recent opening day record do we?!

It's rubbish in fact.

I think he meant Edward Hopper the oil painter. He'll give us a slick new image.

His bounce is better than Noel Hunt's

We're not playing Burnley, Bolton, Blackburn or Derby then.

As long as we avoid Yeovil away & Huddersfield away when I'm on holiday in September I don't care.

I can confirm, this is the Hopper I was referring to. Anton wants to sign him to liven up the goal celebrations, he's let himself go a bit round since the end of season but he has until August to get back in shape.
