Inspired by Big Foot's hatred of Brian Howard over in GF, who are the five Royals players you hate the most / like the least? And lets keep it to ex-players so we don't have any nastiness about the current squad at this most interesting of times.
And add why you couldn't stand them.
1) Paul Brooker - I don't think I've ever felt so irate about a footballer, even opposition players, as I did about Brooker. Even now just thinking about him makes me want to spit vitriol, the useless streak of gutless yellow shite. Bottled every challenge, mis-placed passes left right and centre, rarely beat his man and generally served no oxf*rd purpose what-so-ever.
2) Paul Bodin - ex-Swindon. A left back so bad, that when he was sent off for something another Reading player did, no one complained. Not the fans, not the players and not the management.
3) Matt Mills - collossal arrogance, petulant and nasty streaks a mile wide. Set a terrible example as a captain and was prone to repeat and ridiculous mistakes. Not worth even close to half the fee we agreed for him. Made even more frustrating because if he hadn't been a total bellend he would have been good enough for the PL.
4) Ray Houghton - a player with a big record and therefore a big expectation for me at the time. His contribution was to take half a dozen touches too many every time he had the ball and be just generally shit in the middle of the park. Epitomised all that was wrong with Burns approach of fannying around cluelessly in the middle of the park.
5) Keith Jones - see Houghton but without the expectation.
But for seven wonder months, I think Long might have squeezed out Jones.
Honourable mentions to Van der Kwaak, Shepperd, Crawford and Holsgrove, who while probably shitter than half of that list, now they're long gone are more remembered with amused pity than dislike.
