Wenger's nod to Sir Steve

by Arch » 26 Apr 2007 13:52

Arsene Wenger has very nice things to say about SC and Reading

Here

"Steve Coppell, who is in a position where nobody expected him to be and has a team who does not play negatively - they have a positive attitude everywhere they go."

Daniella

Fair play to him, always been respectful towards us in every encounter we've had in the last two years. A lot more than other sides they've faced.

I'm assuming you found this out first hand as you're evidently under 12 judging by your lack of ability to spell our use grammar.

I don't like Arsene but fair play that he's complimentary. Tbh honest though, you'd have to be a complete tw*t to be slagging us off this season. *cough*Colin*cough*

Hang on a tick. Am I missing something? Isn't our own Steve Coppell the best coach in The Premier League?

It's from the mirror, I'm erring on the side of the mirror taking fairly innocuous looking quotes out of context and surrounding them with inflammatory language in order to get a story.

No, he was generally being a tosser, especially when we were due to play them. As a result our players let them swagger about on the pitch.

All his comments relate to the general safety about keepers, at a time when keeper safety was a big issue, because two keepers had been injured in one game.

The timing of it, due to the fact we were playing them a week after Chelsea is merely a coincidence.

He was probably asked his opinion on it, at no point does he say he thinks Hunt did it or that he did anything wrong.

That goalkeepers weren't given more protection, not that Hunt had tried to kill Cech
