BBC Berks lands the Big Fish for Friday 11 May

by BBC Radio Berkshire » 08 May 2007 15:02

Dear All,

Reading boss Steve Coppell will be Tim's special guest on the Royals Footy Phone In this Friday from 6.

Messrs Downes and Dillon will also hopefully be joining him.

The show will be LIVE from the Mad Stad with full commentary on Reading Reserves v Bolton after you've exhausted Mr C.

All the best

Joel

Wally and Kev

Are you doing a Sidwell on us or can we expect your contracts to be signed shortly ?

Wally

Watford reckon they sussed our call at freekicks, is it true we have used the same call for 4 years, if so why, and if not do you plan to change the way we defend free kicks next season.

Mr Coppell,

does it get frustrating answering the same media questions over and over again?

Cheers,

SC - What shampo do you use, Is it wash and go?

WD - Has SC suggested you go on an anger management course or is he too frightened to suggest it?

SC - Are you concerned that players may mistake Kingsley Royal as a team mate and pass the ball to them - There's already some evidence to suggest Marcus Hahnemann is doing this when he kicks the ball out of play.

Steve,

Should you find yourself on safari in deepest Africa transported in a caravan of two jeeps and a truck, might I suggest that you travel in the truck as remarkably, an anagram of your name is ELEPHANT CLOMPS JEEPS.

Cheers then

Steve,

do you get tired of facing the press only to field the same questions week after week?

Thanks,

Steve from Southcote, by text message.

Steve

Excluding Reading......... what has been the most self-satisfactory season of your managerial career?

Steve,

Discounting the obvious choice of yourself (and also Alex Ferguson as that would be too cliched) - which Premiership manager do you think has had the best season.

Steve

You must find you get asked the same questions in every interview.

Do you ever get frustrated by this ?

Steve,

any chance of signing joey barton this summer? Hes a smashing lad who is mis-understood, I have it on good authority he wants to become a changed man and feels this club will be a calming influence on his career. He would welcome the opportunity to work for a manager like you.

If that fails steve, can I get a game? Im good in a number of positions.

Thanks

xx

Steve

Blue or Red Bounties?

What is your greatest memory as a player?

Why can't we beat Watford when we're patently a much better team?

Can you reveal who our transfer targets will be in the summer, failing that what areas are you looking to strengthen other than at Centre Back?

How much of a issue is the African Nations Cup to the club?

Wally

How will you approach the Sheffield United games next season?

The defence has generally been very strong this season despite all the disruptions, what do you put this down to?

Kevin

Our free kicks this year haven't appeared to be as good as they were last season with more than usual just hitting the wall the opposition put up. Has this been a disappointment to the management and will you be working on new routines?

Steve, do you think that the achievements this season will make it easier to attract players to the club, and do you have anyone in mind to replace Sid?

Do you think we get a raw deal from refs as we're a small club with players who have good discipline , if so do you think we can do anything about that?

What tactic in the game do you most dislike. (Personally cheating gits like El Karkouri who feign injury get my goat)

Wally/Dill how do you carve up what you do with the squad?

Wally, you need to take a lot of credit for the way the defence has played this season, have you been surprised at the way some of the stand in players have performed so well and what do you put this down to?

Steve as a small fish in a big pond are you worried that the hot weather will have a detrimental effect on the size of the pond?

Steve,

Why do you keep playing down our chances of playing in Europe next year?

Reading is in Europe!

Cheers then

Steve I think Reading should help some of the little non league clubs in the area, with this in mind will you be contacting Jim Smith to arrange a friendly with *xf*rd?

Steve - after some aspects of the media have described your post-match interviews and predictable, dull and boring, have you thought about conducting some of them next season using various props (beards, wigs, glasses, moustaches etc...)

You could have done the Newcastle interview with Kingsley's head on!!!

or maybe dropping in song titles into the interviews...

Personally, I think the interviews are fantastic and often pinpoint some key moments in a very articulate manner, to which any knowledgeable fan knows exactly where you are coming from without any fear of any FA repercussions...

Is Wally allowed to do post-match interviews or would they be too x-rated and get the club into hot water...

Sent in via the FA by Mr Dermot 'baldy' Gallagher and his friend Ol' Mother Riley
