Hall of Fame 2

Right I have created a list and this one we can vote on!

I have included Scott Taylor as I couldn't think of any others.

Criteria is 5 years service for the club and have to have retired five years ago:

You can vote for two.

Adie didn't retire until 2006, Parky retired in 2003 so my mistake. Murty still hasn't retired - 5 year retirement rule.

All of them except Taylor. Why limit yourself to two...

If a player has made a massive contribution, there is no way they should miss out simply because they weren't with us for 5 seasons. Kitson 4.5 seasons plus .5 on loan, does he count in 5 years time? Arguably our best ever striker.

Doyle? 4 seasons and arguably our best ever striker.

I say your system sucks.

It's the idea of the Hall of Fame. Each year two people would be inducted. Official ceremony and all that jazz.

Aww thanks.

I just made a system - it's all open to debate after all.

Basically you should test any system on the following criteria, if it doesn't work, it's broken.

Q: Is Robin Friday amongst the first names abe to go on the list?

This is an American thing, isn't it?

What's the point of it? We have player of the season awards, I think that's good enough.

Why doesn't it work? I think it works perfectly fine. What would be your criteria? I think 5 years is an appropriate length of time for service to a club.

For those that didn't have five years there could be a seperate system. I.e extraordinary contributions to the club.

You can't put a system in place for something so subjective, and you're trying to set it up like it'll actually happen. It won't. Certainly not by your rules. You've already got one person on your first list who barely features so far (if at all) on the first thread.

Better to just have the thread every now and then and people to list their own.

And I say again, any system that doesn't have Robin Friday as one of the first names is a total joke. He's got to be one of the first three names on EVERYONE who knows anything about RFC's list.

Oh and there is a kind of hall of fame already. They have posters up in the concourse with pictures and a short biog of Reading Legends.

Don't need to be so vehement Ian. And I don't think it will happen.

Just some time wasting that's all. Isn't that what HNA is all about?

No real vehemence there, just casually picking it apart and making my case clearly forcefully.

There's already a thread on it for a discussion...
