Hob Nob Anyone?
is recruiting a guest reporter for the new season. To keep Hob Nob Anyone?
well known as the place to find the full fans view of Reading FC, we're
after a reliable second opinion on every Royals match played over the season.
The best bit is that it's worth a fiver for every game you report on.
The guest reporter must:
- Be a long-term, regular
Reading FC supporter
- Have a real passion for
Reading FC
- Attend every home match
and the vast majority of away matches
- Have a good writing style
- Be able to supply a report
quickly after each game
Each match report must
be:
- Entertaining
- Supplied as soon as possible
(at least within 24 hours of the final whistle)
- Sent electronically (e-mail)
- A minimum of 500 words,
and a maximum of 1500 words
- Suitable for a wide audience,
but giving a real opinion
- Exclusive to Hob Nob
Anyone?, and not sent or used elsewhere
Benefits for the guest
reporter:
- You will receive FIVE
pounds for EVERY report that meets the above conditions
- That could be around
300 quid for the season - which is the value of your season ticket and
change for pre-match beer!
- All reports you write
will be credited to you
- Your views and opinions
on each match will be read by at least 5,000 people
- Contributing to the longest
running Reading FC site on the Internet
Additional information:
- The guest reporter would
also be invited to supply content for articles and news stories to be used
on other areas of the Hob Nob Anyone? website. However, this content
would be optional and free.
- If the guest reporter
fails to regularly supply reports of good quality we reserve the right to
inform that reporter we will refuse future submissions. In this case we'd
go out on the hunt for a new reporter. This is just to protect ourselves
and isn't meant to scare off any applicant!
How to apply:
Unfortunately there can
only be one guest reporter role, which means your reporting needs to be good
for you to be selected.
All applicants are invited to write a match report for one of the following
Reading FC pre-season friendlies of their choice, as a example of the kind of
report they will produce throughout the season:
- Maidenhead United
- Aldershot Town
- Weymouth
- Tiverton Town
- Dorchester Town
If you are unable to attend
any of the above games but are interested in the job then please still get in
contact with a description of why you should be considered.
The reporter behind the
report I like the most, who can meet all of the criteria above, will get the
job for the whole of the season. The sample report for the pre-season game will
only be used on the website with your permission, however no payment will be
made for this first report.
First step:
Please send me an email
at guest_reporter@royals.cx
with your contact details to register your initial interest, and then get ready
to write up your pre-season friendly match report. Any questions - please ask.
