A really good win. Very scrappy first half in which we struggled to control the game as the Millwall players were running about like mentallists to put 5 men on whichever of our players had the ball. Obviously they couldn't keep this up for 90 mins and once we got the first from a Bywater error they noticeably dropped off and we looked a threat every time we came forward.

Second half produced some excellent stuff and we could have had 5 by the end. It was a scrap, the pitch was bobbly and the Millwall players were predictably fired up, but we came through it comfortably in the end with a committed performance that didn't lack quality... Anyway, a performance that probably won't still be being talked about in a year's time, but in its own way every bit as impressive as the last couple of home games. It's on.

Not too much quality on display today but, perhaps more importantly, there was a more palpable will to win than I've seen before in an Adkins team. Hopefully, at long last, the dressing room is all singing from the same hymn sheet and that spirit can be maintained for the rest of the season.

It was a tough and scrappy games that we would probably have lost earier in the season, it was won by the the spine of the team in Gorkks, Pearce, Williams and Pog standing up to counted and winning their battles. I hope the Akpan injury is minor as he's been pivotal in our change of fortunes and I'm not sure Taylor can fill that gap whilst Guthrie, although talented, doesn't naturally fit into this new style of play. Guthrie's a quality player but the challange is to have him work effectively in this team. Hopefully we can put Sheff Weds away next week which would make QPR the big test of our new found momentum. Win there and anything's possible.

Reading consolidated their place in the Championship play-off positions with a comfortable victory at Millwall. Pavel Pogrebnyak scored his ninth goal of the season when Stephen Bywater's fumble allowed him to slot home and give Reading a half-time lead. Liam Feeney missed a one-on-one chance to level after the break, before Alex Pearce thumped Reading's second from a tight angle with 18 minutes left. Play media Daniel Williams added the third from close range four minutes later. Reading have now scored 15 goals in their past four games, while Millwall have lost six of their past nine league matches and are just two points above the relegation zone.

"We have come here able to select the same team for the fifth game running which helps and it was a great workmanlike performance. You can see the togetherness of everybody which is great and it was a good three points at a very difficult place to come to. Pavel has been top-drawer. He works very hard in training and just epitomises the way the team is at the moment."
